Hubby had to be out the door by 5 (playing tonite), and he likes to eat light when he plays anyway, so we had pasta with homemade sauce (again).

I have 2 loaves of bread cooling though! Yummy.

We had creamed dried beef over homemade whole wheat bread, glazed carrots and a veg mix (sugar snap peas, peppers, potatoes)

Larry made a rotisserie pork roast, and it was devine !!!! Combined with mashed taters and salad, we ate like royalty this evening... No dessert for me... maybe a yogurt later on... Larry has a stash of "little debbies" he will get into when he has his evening coffee..

Azzalea, Harry just loves dried beef gravy. He'd never had it until I made it and was a little leery until he tasted it. I had to go check the pantry and I don't have any, so now it's on my list!! Thanks!!

Jas, do you ever go with Hubs when he plays? I think it'd be fun, if it isn't too late when it's over. I can smell your bread :-)

Carolyn, seeing your post reminded me I forgot to make your tartar sauce. I even bought parsley for it. Dang! Your dinner does sound like fine dining. Please pass the Little Debbies!!

I found three turkey thighs on sale for half price.....so I put them in a roasting pan with some celery, carrots and onions and let them brown.
Now they are in the crock pot/roaster.
I think I they will end up as turkey and noodles, along with some broccoli and home made bread.

Barbequed country style pork ribs, Brussels sprouts,rice,and garlic cheese biscuits.

Chili and Hot Tamales....we're having a little old snap so they'll taste good. Jasdip, I'd be glad to take one of those loaves of bread off your hands. Yum yum.

Carol, those thighs will make one delicious soup full of flavor. I bet your house smells terrific!

Jel, what a meal! Especially the garlic cheese biscuits. I think I'd just make mini-sandwiches with the rib meat.

Jude, Jasdip's bread would be great with your chili and tamales. Now that meal will warm you up for sure.

Azzalea, yummy! I've looked and looked,locally, for a source of good old fashioned real dried beef for gravy (SOS to my ex-Navy husband) and just can't find any but those tiny pre-packaged packages. Sure would like to find some like what we used to have made at the locker plant from our own home grown beef! I'd love some of that gravy!

Our church youth had their annual Sweetheart dinner, and a retired pastor and his wife invited twelve of us old "widder wimmin" to be their guests. They do this every year, so that is nice. We had baked potato, ham, corn, salad and a dessert.

Patti, most nites he plays till 2 am which is so not for me.
But I'll go with him tomorrow....they are one of a few groups playing at a benefit to raise money. It's in the afternoon into evening.

My bread was so good! I split a loaf and gave to 2 neighbours...one is an elderly lady who has cancer. The poor dear. The other is a single man. I gave them 1/2 loaf last week too, and they love it!.

They both said for me not to be surprised when they come knocking on my door next Saturday asking for bread! LOL

We had Shrimp and Corn Chowder. First time to fix it and it was fabulous.

Jel48--no Amish markets in your area? That's where I generally buy mine, but around here, all supermarket delis have the dried beef to slice to order, too. I'd go broke if I had to buy those little packages, as much Creamed Dried Beef as we eat--LOL!

I made my rigatoni and sausage for my folks and they loved it. I doubled the recipe and will have it leftover tonight with garlic bread and a Marionberry cobler for dessert.

When I reheat it for leftovers I add a bunch more spinach, it is so good.

Azzalea, the Amish market sounds great, but nothing like that here. And we've actually asked at all the store delis. I'm going to keep looking though. Maybe look for it in Minnesota next time we're down to visit my son.
