It is too small as things are now, but have you considered getting it reframed, with wider matting and a larger frame? Anyway to switch it with something larger that now might be on a smaller wall, perfect for this one?

I was thinking maybe you could frame out a space on the wall using molding, and then paint it different from the wall to highlight the picture and give it more presence. Just a thought.

Sorry, it's too small. Even with a remat/reframe, the print is just so small that in that space, it will look overwhelmed by the frame/mat. Many times, the prints can be ordered in a variety of sizes. Look on Art.com and see if they carry this print. The will list if it comes in other sizes.

I feared it was too small. (I purchased it from art.com, and this was the only size it came in). Thank you for the opinions. My husband is useless as, unfortunately, are most of my friends when it comes to this stuff!

This has been the toughest buy yet. I refuse to compromise on art, and so far "I love it" and "it's the right size" don't meet!

I have a beautiful picture of our adult children which was the perfect size for our foyer in our last house. We have moved into our new home a couple of months ago and I am working on having the matting sized larger with a larger frame. This will add at least 4" all around and should fit nicely in our upstairs foyer between the two sconces.
Your picture looks great in the room and by adding a larger matte and frame it just might work.

Re-framing is going to be expensive...probably more than you paid for the piece. Since you love it, I suggest keeping it. It will eventually work somewhere, maybe on another wall in that same room.

Yeah, framed (had art.com frame it before shipping it out) it was like $100ish. I took it to a framing shop yesterday to get an estimate - $425.

When I selected this, I spent HOURS looking through art.com. I did compile a list of about 15 prints I liked. If I can find that list, it will at least be a starting point -- I can narrow it down by size. I have a bathroom this print should work well in. (I'm hesitant to add monster matting around it, just because the large mat/small print looks "contemporary" to me -- but I can't say why!!) :)

Funny thing is, I blocked these dimensions out on posterboard and hung it in the space, and it looked OK. Must have been an illusion thing since the posterboard was white and the print is dark.

Redsox, the artist is Norman Wyatt Jr. This print is either "Row of Trees I" or "Row of Trees II".

How about using it on a adjoining wallspace? And then look for a larger co-ordinating artprint (or even two medium sized ones?) for that wall?

I also love your print but agree that it is to small. Do you have a Hobby Lobby near you? I have had several things framed by them during their 50% framing sales and LOVE their work and it isn't very expensive. You have to go during a 50% sale, though. They have them every other week. This week it is not on sale but next week it will be. At least, it is that way at my Hobby Lobby.

I am having some portraits matted and framed and I am using their ready made frames. The cost is going to be about $26 for an 11 x 14 frame, with mat and glass.

This hurts - the print is perfect with my window treatments in there (a very deep army-ish green). However, below is another of my finalists, and is much closer to an appropriate size, especially once framed. And its colors mirror what's in the adjoining room. What do you think of this?

Dimensions are 39x28 unframed. That table is - I'm going to guess - 5'x3'. So if framing adds a min of 2" mat and 2" frame (likely more since this is substantial in size), that's at least 43"x32" finished.

(As for the adjoining wallspace, great idea! I have a divider wall between this room and the great room (adjoining) where the other print may be a good fit).

I am coming in late on this, but I do agree that the print is too small to hang there alone. I am not sure, tho, that you should be looking for one piece to hang there, to fill all that wall space. What about a pair or series of three companion prints? Since you suggest that the one you purchased is one of a pair, what about getting the other one and hanging them side by side?

Les - this may be my dislike (but I do find it easy/convenient) for symmetry - but at one point I did have a pair of prints there and it was too much "pair." Does that make sense? Two prints, two chairs on each side of the table, the table itself has the wood laid in two distinct sections, two windows on the left wall, the island has two barstools... all of this you can see from most angles in the room. It was like couples' night in my kitchen! :) Is there a decorator's tip to avoid this?

I've also tried three prints, and all the pairs made them seem out of place. Maybe I'm just being stupid! I have a pair of prints over my bed with 2 pillows and 3 throw pillows and they look fine.
