Where do you put paper towels, wet dish towels, cutting boards,
Comments (35)Paper Towels: On a vertical stand next to my sink. I like having them handy. It is an inexpensive one from Target. In the past, I had them hanging under the upper cabinets. After we remodeled, I needed a new solution. I didn't think the countertop one would be stable, but it is and I really like it. I enjoying being able to grab the whole roll and take it to another room if I need to. Wet dish towels: I have a Rev-a-shelf hanging rod thing on the inside of one of my cabinet doors under the sink. I only use it occasionally though. Usually I have a dishtowel folded in half laying/hanging right on the counter where I stand at the sink. I use it for drying my hands, fruit, dishes, etc. throughout the day. It dries quickly. I have a dish drainer on one side of my double sink, so anything I hand wash usually just dries in there. If I've entertained and have extra hand washing with more dishes on a towel on the counter, then those go on the racks under the sink until they dry. Sometimes if I have one that is really wet and yucky, I just throw it on the tile floor in my laundry room (closet). It is the only tile I have in the whole house (I like to take advantage of it.) :) Cutting boards: In a vertically divided cabinet in one of my lowers. Plastic bags: I donate them to a food bank, so I throw them in the trunk of my car until I see my friend who takes them for me. :)...See MorePaper Towel Holder?
Comments (47)Allison, thanks for posting that more paper towel jars had been added. I contacted David T. Smith and spoke with Eric who was extremely helpful. According to Eric, more jars will be added each Friday at 10:00 AM Eastern time and they do accept special requests. The requests are shown to their artists who then decide if they want to take on the special request. Napagirl, Eric said the colors they use are blue, brown, green and a couple of yellows. When you have time, scroll through all their pottery pieces and see if there is a cobalt blue. I found this statement when reading about their pottery designs: Our "Redstone Pottery" has the look of salt glazed stoneware, but is actually earthenware pottery with a grey slip covering with typical cobalt blue decoration. I was told that David T. Smith has never priced a paper towel jar higher than $300. That will give us a target amount to begin saving for. Sarchlos, thank you for noting they had one with flowers. I liked the flowers but not the brown color. Hostagrams, you are right - the jar is an beautiful art piece that holds paper towels. ....See MoreBuilt in paper towel holder in cabinet... anyone have one?
Comments (7)at least 1 person here did that - maybe they'll see your question and post a pic. it was just a space left open - instead of putting in a drawer. your cabinet maker should know what hardware is needed to hold it. I'd suppose it needs to be just a bit wider than a paper towel roll is long. and deep enough for the big fat rolls if you use those....See MoreSm Kitchen needs interior sink door mount paper towel holder.
Comments (3)Consider Command adhesive. I don't know if it'll work against the pulling but it's very cool. Sears, Amazon, other Amazon, plus Simple Human, Rubbermaid, and a number of other people make the ones that take a couple of small screws. They'll work. There are also a lot of magnetic ones. You might want to bond a steel plate to the inside of your door to hold the towels on a magnetic holder, plus other accessories, perhaps a dishtowel bar, tool hooks, potholders, or sponge cups. Suction mounts would work too....See Morequiltglo
