A question about oats - follow up to Teresa's substitution thread

Grainlady, or anybody, here's my follow up question about oat bran, from Teresa's thread about substitutions.

I make home made granola using plain rolled oats as the primary base ingredient. All I do is mix it with assorted nuts, sunflower seeds, flax seed, wheat germ (I'll stop that now), cinnamon, nutmeg, canola oil, and a mixture of raw honey, molasses and maple syrup. I'll toast in in a very low oven (285 - 300 degress) for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so. I'l vary it depending on what I have on hand, but all that's probably irrelevant. What I want to know is, is it harmful to eat the oats that have been toasted in the oven but not boiled or soaked?
