Re-Heating food what do you think of this idea???

I am co-chair for the food committee for my daughterÂs high school band program. Last year, I was not in charge, but I helped out quite a bit. In my opinion, the biggest problem we faced was reheating the food on site at the various venues. All we had were chafing dishes  the cheap wire kind (not sure if more expensive units would make a difference???) The food never got hot enough.

My husband has a 5000w generator and there already exists a home made cabinet for a generator that dampens the noise. What do you guys & gals think about me bringing a microwave or 2 to these events to heat the food and then putting the food into the chafing dishes to stay warm??? Time is usually on our side as we travel and set up long before the kids arrive.
