I bet it's a schefflera / umbrella plant. My grandmother had one that she got as a tiny houseplant and it grew into a monster like yours, the leaves were over a foot long. She gave it away (it ended up having to be potted in a big plastic garbage can with wheels) to a neighbor with 15 foot ceilings Here is a link that might be useful: Shefflera pics

This sounds like a question that only someone in a stupor could ask. What were you THINKING, Hooray? Opening a window when its zero degrees outside? That's tantamount to being locked up in the state mental hospital for insanity. (I am just kidding you...don't take me seriously. I sprained my ankle and am delirious on Lortabs at the moment after a very painful ordeal yesterday). I actually can't imagine it being that cold. I have a coat on when its 55F. I hope your plants bounce back, but what gives me even more hope is that places like the Home Depot where you live even carried Crotons and Adeniums. I always called them "wrist warmers", and got mine at the residents' homemade booth of a retirement home. I love them around the house in winter. I can type and write and do all kinds of work in them, but they are easy to slip off when I need to get my hands wet, and easy to slip back on. So comfy. And just by keeping my wrists warm, my fingers are warmer, too. (I love this booth at the retirement home events. I got my sleep slippers there, too. Knit, not as snug as socks so the tootsies can wiggle and breathe, but they come up over the ankle with just enough snugness that they stay on, but relaxed enough that I kick them off easily when I get too warm.) edit to add, for outdoors I find mittens way warmer than gloves! Though in that "energy crisis" in the early 70s when everyone including the high school turned down the heat, it was harder to write with the mittens on. The coat didn't help, either.
