Ming Green Marble Countertops?
Comments (7)I think the white and light green sounds like a beautiful plan, very peaceful. Less contrast makes the space look bigger; that's what I did in my small kitchen. I'd look around at local stone yards. If you can't find slabs of ming marble, or if it isn't a robust counter stone, there are some lovely light green granites that might give you a similar effect. Maybe something like costa esmeralda? The one remodelfla posted is gorgeous. I also saw a light green soapstone at one place....See Moreglass backsplash with my new soapstone counters?
Comments (14)Prill, that is some gorgeous soapstone! Wow. I love the veining and the unusual colours. I think you want to keep the bs subtle so that it complements but doesn't steal thunder from your stone. In that regard, something like Nantucket would compete. And I agree with Zeebee on the smaller mosaics. I've always loved Anita's ming marble; it's really interesting. Could be a great match for your ss. Are there other elements (besides your white sink) about your kitchen that are of note? I also love catmom's bs: Here are the colours that her Artistic Opera Glass comes in It's a difficult but fun decision to be faced with! Eliz...See MoreBackSplash Choices, long story, lots of pics!
Comments (14)Oh my -- do you have to pick so theoretically? That is, can you get much of the other stuff up and running so that you can see the context a little better, set the tiles up against the counter with the floor in sight and choose *then*? ~one who's expert at delaying choices as long as possible. Speaking of which, it's pulls-time.......See MoreMy kitchen progress post
Comments (105)The kitchen isn't even finished and we're already using it - loving it! That is my daughter's homework spread out on the island. sorry for the OT, but here is my crew at Halloween. Funny, huh? Here is the backsplash grouted with Laticrete Light Pewter grout. Tomorrow my cooktop and hood can be installed now that backsplash is grouted. My electrical will be done tomorrow, too, so I'll have undercab lights, my disposal, my oven, my compactor, etc. Those of you following my other thread about lighting know that for now, I'll just have the cans...as I can't make up my mind about pendants and light over the table yet! Too many good choices! Right now I'm leaning towards the Parker Pendant in white but no clue for above the table. I'm thinking I want a linear suspension style light there but no leads yet! The kitchen will be inspected Tuesday, paint will happen Wed-Fri. After that I have only the final floor coat and I have my non-blue kitchen!!! Thanks for following along. This stage sure is fun :) Anita...See Moreformerlyflorantha
