A pumpkin orange would spice up the room and go well with your colors.

I would add some art over the bed.

Move the dresser to the left a bit, and fit in a small cozy chair and floor lamp. Or, if you don't have room for that, a tall, full floor plant there, with an uplight behind it.

If you don't do the chair and floor lamp, I would think about a larger lamp on the dresser to balance the jewelry chest.

As for another color, consider a deep blue. It would be very pretty with the browns and greens and also the orange undertone of the furniture.

I would take the large basket off the chifferobe and put it on the floor somewhere, perhaps filled with plants or books. Add a decorative plate on a stand on top of chifferobe, and perhaps a trio of candlesticks.

One other thing. I think the scarf on the window doesn't really reach the level of the rest of the room as far as style. You might consider moving the brackets up so that the scarf hangs over the moulding, not droops over the window. Or, try knotting the scarf where you put it on each holder. It will create a pocket in the swag that you can fill with bubble wrap in each fold to give it more substance.

I can't come up with anything yet to add to the nice suggestions already made, because I can't take my eyes off that bed. Love love LOVE the curves! I'm experiencing a bit of a case of bed lust here.....

Oh, it's lovely. I wouldn't add another color, but instead some sparkle/bling. How about some shiny gold? A beautiful gold and cut crystal lamp on that dresser instead of the teddy bear and that hanging thing.

Some botanical prints (heavy on the green) would look great on your walls.

the wall color is Lincolnshire green, I believe it is a ralph lauren color if I remember right.

I am going to shove the dresser a bit and see about a chair, what style?

I will look for some art work, how about a selection of photos of fall leaves? I have a bunch of those that are really nice I could frame them.

I like the plate on a stand idea very much....

The teddy bears are courtesy of my kids.... so they keep popping up in different places.

Lovely color and great furniture. I agree to remove the basket from atop the armoire. It's too light for what you have going. And, the window scarf is not doing it for me. I think a lot of "bling" could be done with that window. Even if there were sheets to match your duvet, could a window treatment be fashioned out of one of them? Something with substance and a bit of the green trim - even picking up the stripe from your pillows. Speaking of pillows, the first thing I thought of was something along the lines of queen-size pillows in the brown with a pretty green monogram on them. Something more substantial than your small-ish toss pillows.

As to the lamps, the one on the dresser may have to find a new home somewhere. Maybe that could be incorporated onto the top of the armoire if you get something like a large plate in a stand (easel), etc. to balance things up there. Then you could put something "bling-y" lamp-wise on your dresser.

Question: do you have no need for a clock on your bedside table?

As to artwork - not sure the photos will give you the bling you're looking for. Try thinking of soft botanical prints (think calandars) that you could frame 6 of them maybe and hang.

actually you are looking at the spare table... I am newly single, the other table has the alarm clock, a matching lamp and yet another teddy bear. The kids put them there to keep me company when they are at their Dad's house.

What about some satin ribbons in the green worked into the swag some how?

I like the idea of the leaf prints... if they are smaller or a variety of sizes, they would look especially pretty staggered in a non-linear arrangement. The more prints the better! I would use light colored matting to make the prints pop off the walls.

I agree with those that mentioned adding "bling". I would use various sizes of shiny chrome picture frames(I like Pottery Barn's silver plated frames), fill with your favorite photos and place these on the nightstands, dresser, etc.

Also, creating an inviting spot to sit down, take off your shoes, etc. would be a great idea (a few people also mentioned this). I would use a chair with a seat upholstered in a contrasting but complimentary fabric or use a simple chair with a few contrasting pillows and maybe a warm throw over the back.

I think that art work would be lovely in this room. I absolutely love the wall color and the chocolate; the furniture is gorgeous and I am not crazy about that scarf on the window. Could we take the scarf off, buy two pillows and tie the pillows up with the scarf, like a package and use them on the bed. Perhaps two orangish-red pillows tied up like a package with the window treatment. I think that would be neat and I do think you need a little bling, perhaps something crystal, brass, mirrored, maybe a beautiful vanity mirror on which you could place a silver hairbrush set, some little limoge boxes or ceramic boxes.

You have fantastic green pillows on the bed. Tie them together with that brown scarf. Make a package wrap of it. Put a big bow on it when you wrap the pillows. It just gives you that element of surprise and takes it away from the windows, which I think is too small for the windows. I prefer them without anything to something that appears too small.

Jea2007, you have great furniture and your room is coming along nicely. Have you looked at the bedrooms thread in the Gallery? I like to consult the photos collection to see what people put on their walls, on their dressers, how they dress their windows, and so on. I often get ideas where I can use stuff I already have, but use it better.
