# went down, better luck next time...

I had another blood test today. My number dropped, which is what I was expecting and therefore, hoping for. If it wasn't going to go up, I really wanted it to go down so I could move on.

I am fine, and just now ready to have a consult with my doctor to find out when we can move on to the next step.

Nothing got damaged as far as I can tell. I just planted out some hardy hibiscus, pink and violet queen bee balm, artemesia, and coreopsis Full Moon. The hostas under the oak tree were pretty well shaded from any frost. It was a light frost. None of the wintersown plants have been hurt even after 3 weeks of nice warm weather. The plum tree and the Japanese Maple were covered so they seem to be fine too. 43 degrees here now and sunny. The wind is picking up again. I hope it blows this cold front way east and out to sea.

My prayers are with you Karen, I'm sorry about your BFF's mom. Are you hiring someone to redo the bathroom or is it a do-it-yourself project(just redid ours-pink-with a Monet print,the boys hate it!) Now is your chance to make it?Fresh?Funky?Serene?Cottage? Just remember some days your the bug and some days your the windshield... When things here are crazy I have to prioritize, mine is watering(sandy soil)I was given some ferns two summers ago that spent most of the summer in the kiddie pool before I could get time to plant them!!LOL!! My mom gave me some good advise, it went something like this-a man had to move some stuff but all he had was a donkey-at the end of the day when he wasn't finished he was told "there's only so much you can do with one ass" I try to remember that when I feel overwelmed. -B

Ossiemom - I feel your pain and know exactly how frustrated you must be. We've been living in our basement (thank goodness for that since it would be an even bigger issue if we were in a hotel!) for 2 weeks now while the floor company tries to get our hardwood floors to look decent. And I say decent since I'll accept even that at this point! So what should have been a 4-5 day job is now going into week 3 and we still may have to start over - it's infuriating! Anyway, I'm sure they must have done this, but just thought I'd ask to make sure - did they seal all the granite when they put it in? The reason I ask is that we used 2 slabs of Cambrian black that weren't from the same lot and they looked completely different before sealing. One was much lighter than the other, however after sealing they look exactly the same to me. We knew this though PRIOR to buying them, so it wasn't a surprise. For some reason one slab already had sealer on it and the other didn't when they were brought to the stone supplier. We had them put sealer on a test piece from the lighter one just to see how it looked and we couldn't tell the difference. I would think that they would have sealed your granite if it requires sealing though, so then it definitely isn't acceptable if they look different! The counter itself should have caulk between it and the wall, before the backsplash is installed. The only way to remedy that if it didn't happen is to remove the backsplash. Or, the last row of the backsplash. Then the small gap between the backsplash and counter should be filled with caulk. If the backsplash is tile, then the sanded caulk that matches the grout should be used. So, it sounds as though the right material was ordered and used. How big is the gap between the countertop and backsplash? If the gap is bigger than 1/8", you need some backer to stuff down in there before you caulk over the top to keep the water out. The caulk itself could be old, and have lost it's adhesion. I'd buy a new tube. And make sure that the caulk wasn't applied over grout. The other thing to check is are you sure that the liquid isn't coming from a faucet hole missing a gasket? Or from the rim of the sink itself? Some towels, and some colored water, together with another adult to selectively drip that colored water can help you to see exactly where that water is coming from.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. I've been seeing a lot of disappointment with frozen embryos lately. I was hoping you were going to break the pattern.

I'm glad you'll be able to start over, even though I wish you didn't have to.
