I have a Crepe pan I bought somewhere for $10. It is nonstick with very low sides and it works just fine. I just checked the brand on my crepe pan, it is T-fal. I would be hesitant to use one that is not non stick because crepes are so delicate. One of the ones that has no sides might be cool, but mine is about 15 years old and showing no wear so I can't see ant reason to get something else. I did not actually realize that it was a T-fal pan, it is probably the only one I have ever owned that lasted more than a few years.

I have a T-fal one as well. A friend bought it for me as a thank you gift a few years ago. I use it, maybe, once a year, but it's very fun and works nicely. I'm still terrible at the flip part. I should practice with some of my daughter's play food or a big piece of bologne!

I use Alton Brown's crepe recipe - also a good one.

I have a Calphalon Crepe pan that makes perfect crepes, I've never had one stick. It gets used only for crepes as I want to keep it perfect. The bottom seems extra thick and takes a few minutes to preheat on my electric stove but once it does it maintains the temp nice for making multiple crepes real quick.

I have a little, blued steel one that I have yet to try. I would usually make crepes in a nonstick skillet and had eyeballed the truly impressive 40$ Calphalon crepe pan one my non stick skillet was no longer non stick. I had actually planned to crepe this weekend but there's got to be somebody else here that has a little blued steel pan? A good friend is French and he has the exact same pan that his mother had given him which is the same as hers, as was the same as her mother's etc. It's a delight to watch him make crepes.

I just use my nonstick skillet....the one that gets used for eggs and after 3 years is still pristine because nothing but a silicone spatula ever gets used in it.
There is alos a gadget that makes crepes on the bottom....sort of like a rosette iron. YOu heat the pan, dip into the batter and the heat of the pan cooks the crepe....sounds far fetched, but I saw part of one of those department store demos once. Needless to say I didn't buy the pan!

Mom used to have a crepe maker like this.
Just dip, no flip.

It was how she hid leftover whatever. Fill, pour a white sauce over the top and we'd eat anything!
Haven't had them for years.

I have a ronco one that I bought at a garage sale in the box 25 yrs ago for $3.00. I still use it and love it. There are plenty of crepe pans on Ebay. I would not use one that is not nonstick. Have fun!

Just buy a small non-stick fry or saute pan. I just use my big non-stick frying pan (I keep mainly for eggs). Use a ladle to measure out the crepe batter to the desired size.
