I have never had good luck with any grey brightening product. One of the Big Names products just colored all my hair a very dull navy ship grey. Thank goodness it was temporary and eventually washed out. Other products will color your hair blue or violet. There were stages where the colored hair blended with the white strands to give me a color I didn't particularly care for, but it was always worse to color it.

There are products to put shine on your hair. I can't name any, but when looking for hair products I have seen them.

For shine, I use a product called "Citre Shine anti frizz serum" It adds a nice shine and tames my frizzy hair. My greying hairs are silver, rather than the more drab yellowish color that some hair colors turn like my sister-in-law's. Her beautician uses something to tone down the yellowness and it looks very nice..no blue tones..brightenes up the grey with some shine.

Several months ago I found in KMart a Pantene shampoo for silver hair. That was about the time that Pantene came out with a whole bunch of shampoos for different types and colors of hair. I have hunted everywhere for the matching conditioner (that the bottle of shampoo said I should use along with it) but never found it. Can't find any more of the shampoo either.

gazania, I too, was looking for the Pantene Silver shampoo. I love it. but I can't find it anywhere among all those new kinds they have now. I hope they didn't discontinue it. It was great making my silver hair, shine.

It's not particularly for grey hair, but I used Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum for shine and taming fly-aways. I love it and you use only a tiny bit so a bottle lasts forever.

So, I'm not sure if it would make your hair "brighter" but definitely sleeker and shinier.

To brighten your hair use Shimmer Lights shampoo. It will glisten and make your hair glow. It's great for dull gray, gray and any shade of blond. I had a salon and I know it works well. If you have a Sally Beauty supply nearby they also sell a generic brand of it. Well worth the few dollars you'll pay. Aveeno has a product you apply after shampooing and you leave it on five to fifteen minutes, it comes in different tones of hair. I use the blonde one and my hair comes out blonder and shinier. Both products are very good.

Prell Shampoo does it for me. Best shampoo I have ever used.

I get a lot of compliments on my silver hair. If I even mention coloring it my kids go balistic, males and females. I use a spray called Advance Techniques Professional Hair Care by Avon. It gives silver a beautiful shine. Vique.

A fistful of bacon grease should make it shine! :)

I know Pantene recently changed their lineup around but I'm not sure if they changed or deleted anything. You could go to the website and see what you find. Could probably contact them and ask if it's still available.

hi...I use the Clairol Shimmer Lights too, but only once a week, it keeps the yellowing down. When I used it more often, I did get a bluish cast to the really white part of my hair...the Pantene products for grey - they stopped making them!!! I had stocked up on them but there's none to be found. I loved that stuff!

I just rub on a bit of water, so my partly gray hair'll (more or less) stay in place when I comb it.

Haven't tried that bacon grease, recommended by one of the sharper denizens o' this place. Do ya figger that I'd need to wash it more'n ... say ... once a week?
