My first Etsy purchase!

I'm not really a necklace wearer, but fell in love with a similar necklace that this seller (DesignsBySuzze) had made.. so I asked her to make one for me with blue beads and a longer chain. This is what I got.

There is a third bead that you can't really see in this picture.

I actually like it even better in person. What do you think?

I've never looked at the website, but I will now. It's things made by hand?

The necklace is really special. Is it a locket? Is the book meant to be the Bible? Is it sterling silver? Whatever it is, it's quite nice.

Most is handmade, although people can also sell vintage and antique things.

It is a locket which can hold 2 pictures. It is silver plated and not sterling silver.

Someone here had mentioned that you can ask sellers for custom items which is what I did. She made it and then posted pictures on the site for my approval before I actually paid. I imagine I will do a lot more buying now! Etsy is fun!

she's beautiful golfguy! enjoy safely. please continue to keep us up to date on your purchases. and don't mind the occasional insult. it happens a lot around here. i live in a big golf town but don't play myself. i was thinking of some lessons though, since i can't ride horses anymore (accident in fancy automobile i was driving years ago. way too much car for a 17 year old girl!) i don't care to see the toothbrush but if you've got any art around (besides the bentley) i'd love to have a peek at it. Good Morning.....thank you so much for taking time to read my post. I have a small ranch home...no dining room, I spend much of my time in the living room reading or on the laptop, if I place it on the mantle I was afraid the heat might ruin it. I do have a large blank kitchen wall behind my table. The sides of the painting are painted, so I will not be...framing it. The artist is so talented..I Love her work. I just received this and I can't stop looking at it. She even sent me blank note cards to use that had photos of her work on the front...how thoughtful of her. Thank you for your suggestions

Last October I spent a week in Boston and while my husband was in seminars all day I was free to roam the city and that's where I find them in an antique store for over $200. Not at all tempting at that price. When I told my daughter she alerted me to "steampunk" which is a fascinating mix of Victorian, vintage, punk, industrial design, fantasy, romance etc. If you search on Etsy under steampunk you'll find some really interesting pieces. I like it a lot! I've requested custom items before and I've made custom items. Some buyers will make you nuts with a million questions and requests and others are just nice and easy. Guess which ones I like best? lol

I go to RoseCreekCottage at Etsy. I bought my DGD's all necklaces for Christmas, and another one last month for DGD's birthday. She's into the Twilight series for the 2nd time, so I got her the Twilight one.

Sharon, it depends on the seller. Mine did take Paypal, but a couple others I saw only take checks or money orders.
