question about the problem with scrolling down ...ad problems

would some of you let me know what ad is in the ad banner when you have trouble scrolling (when ad extends out too far).

I'll watch but am not going to be here a lot today.

I emailed Tamara to see if they were aware that was hapening..they weren't. She wants to know what ad are showing up, I imagine to see if it is the same ones or if all are doing it.

I don't see any ads since I use firefox with adblock plus and easylist, they should be able to easily look at their code and see what is causing the problem blowing out the margins.

We here in North Western Virginia were overwhelmed by these little (explitive) stink bugs last summer. They destroyed the local apple crop, corn, tomatoes and more. And by the sheer number of "tick-like" babies I saw, this growing season will be a huge challenge. I have attended several lectures sponsored by the local Agriculture Extension folks who admit they do not have a solution in site. With that in mind I am considering some kind of netting for my tomatoes in particular. The stink bugs do not seem to assault greens, onions, leeks, beets etc. I hope to find the proper netting and secure it to heavy duty tomato trellis' with clothes pins. I realize this will be a bit of a hassle when harvesting but that's got to be better than watching the tomato crop destoyed at the height of the season.... it's heart breaking. I'm going to Wal-Mart to check out the "tulle netting" suggested by "noinwi".

You may have a very small leak that may require adding freon every year or so (but only a 1lb) or you have a new leak that is leaking quickly. It could be he doesn't have a "sniffer" and that is why he thinks it's a bad idea-sad! A leak can be found several ways and experience. Oil around some tubing may indicate a place to start, where soap may show it. If not a sniffer (example-H10 halogen) will work well. I have very good luck with both and if one is not sure a psi leak test and isolation method can be used. Do not put any sealant into the system! You have metering devices that depend on small openings to operate properly. Such things should be taken off the shelves! I agree that you should call another tech to look at the system who is prepared and supplied with the proper tools. Proper methods of charging a system depend on the equipment. The proceedures for charging are on the access panel on the outdoor unit and will include "superheat" and "subcooling" knowing wet bulb, outdoor temps, indoor temps and pressures. I've seen some with using temps and pressures only.

Yep..still having problems, but not as bad. Still annoying enough that I don't come as often. I refuse to change anything on my computer to "fix" the problem. Seems like everytime I try to fix one thing..something else goes wrong! If so many are having problems..the problem has to be on GardenWeb's end...let them tweak and fix it!!

and it has, pretty quickly in fact. In just a few days the water has become nice and clear. There is still some muck that has settled back down to the bottom but nightly I go out and try to stir it up with a skimmer net. My hope is that eventually the bottom will be nice and clean.

Not sure which ads cause the problem but it is a very big problem. I often need to hit refresh several times before I am able to scroll. It's a real pain!

My problem doesn't have to do with the ads, but I've had a back-and-forth email conversation with Tamera today about my problem logging in (sometimes.) She was so quick with the emails and very interested in the problem. Of course when I tried to recreate it, I couldn't, but now know to try hitting the F5 key when it happens again. That kind of attention was a nice surprise from GW!

Mine too. Sometimes the scroll bar doesn't show up at all so I have to refresh to get it to pop up.

Well it just happened when I clicked on "preview" of something I was going to post. All I could see was "Free car battery test", but now that I've hit refresh I can see it is for Interstate Battery Center.

AT&T just did it to me. It's the very top banner, directly under the large 'Garden Web' and above the Garden Web tool bar. In the space between the two. PIA!

The scrolling feature normally is herky-jerky until after the full page has loaded. If you have a slow internet connection such as dial-up, that can be a bothersome problem. Years go, web developers were more kind to dial-ups, but as time passed, the graphic content and ads increased until many webmasters began to program as though everyone had unlimited speed.

There is a second hidden feature: the way the internet servers are programmed to operate. The system can tell when it has connected to a slow speed customer and will reduce the amount of time slices allocated to that user, the thinking being that it will be able to keep up and thereby can pass more bits total by giving more play the faster connections. It doesn't always work out that way when the system gets busy; The faster connections gets the lion's share and the dial-up service becomes slower than normal.
