Trying to find on line source for all white area rugs
Comments (7)Home Decorators seems to have several alternatives for creating your own. The one I have linked would be a more traditional feel, with the three rectangular fields. custom rug You don't say what size you need, what you want to spend, or what you mean by 'texture for interest". Do you want a sculpted pattern in the rug, or do you want the rug fibers to have texture like a friese? I assume from your description that this is going in a traditional setting - is there a reason you want an all white area rug, versus something with some color?...See MoreNow I know I have lost it. This rug beyond fiesta crazy?
Comments (6)OK. Ok. I am off the ledge. thank you all. :) And you are so right trying2grow! I just need some patience. I do love the orientals, and of course my cats make lots of messes. :( If the house doesn't get done before the baby gets here it won't be the end of the world. I found this gorgeous one too, but it is out of my price range. I am sure if I keep looking I will eventually find a nice rug that will fit better with orange in it....See MoreTravertine floors-am I CRAZY?!
Comments (25)This is one of the things I worried about most in our kitchen remodel. I had wanted a very specific French ceramic tile that I couldn't get for the price I wanted in the time that I needed it. This led me to a hasty decision, and I chose unfilled travertine. After pulling the trigger, I did some research (BIG mistake) that led me to the conclusion that I had made a horrible choice. I realized I would be stuck with my decision, so I figured that, if I really hated it, I could wait a few years and pull it all out and replace it. Well, the travertine has turned out to be one of the most enjoyable features of my new kitchen! We have rugs in front of our stove and sink, so it seldom gets anything on it other than normal dirt from foot traffic (and hair from three large dogs). I just vacuum at least once a week and spot clean spills. NOTHING sticks to it and nothing shows. Believe it or not, I haven't mopped it once since it was installed in January. Thinking it had to be gross by now, I wiped a few tiles in a high traffic area with a plain white damp paper towel, and there was almost no dirt whatsoever. We have 16x16 tiles and have had no issues with cracks. I do wish I had hired a professional tiler to install it, though. My contractor's crew was not very careful, so I have some unevenness. They also ignored my request to have tiles with more holes placed on the perimeter where they would be covered with cabinets....See MoreGlass Vessel Sink in a Wet Bar -- Am I Crazy?
Comments (7)If you are using standard base cabinets with countertop height at 36", a vessel sink will be too high to actually use for anything but face washing for a very tall person. It would take a 30" high countertop to be able to be used for glass washing and rinsing, which is the most common usage of bar sinks. Most also don't have very "square" sides to be able to fill them up with soapy water and glasses, and they're not very deep, so the don't hold very much. One of the best uses of a (nice sized) bar sink is to hold ice and beverages for a "event" and I can't see you doing this with a vessel sink. Now, take a beautiful glass vessel sink and recess it slightly into the counter, underlight it, and get some pretty river pebbles and a fountain pump and you'd have a great water feature, but to actually use it as a bar sink---I don't think you'd be happy....See Morepatricianat
