The aphid mummies do look very similar, enough that I would say that's what I think they are. Thanks for the help ID'ing those. I'm finding that most of my squash/melons/beans to have a lot is silvery flake smutsch on the underside of the leaves. And if I look very close I see a lot of little dark dots. From what I've seen online those are the "bite" marks of sucking insects. While I see a lot of lady bugs in the garden I'm not sure they're keeping up and my problem may soon get out of hand. Can anyone recommend a brand of "safer" pesticide I can get from somewhere like Lowe's or Home Depot? A pyrethrin pesticide right? I have some of the synthetic pyrethrin pesticides around. Cypermethrin as well as some Bifenthrin that I use around the outside of the house and cinder block walls to keep those total &*#&$*! bark scorpions at bay. I honestly hope nobody EVER encounters one of those buggers. Just imagine sticking your foot into a fire and holding it there for 8 hours while your whole body twitches and someone electrocutes you... sorry a little off topic.

well hey - then join the group (yeah - I can be a group all by myself!) and try something different! It'll be easier for you to repaint if you don't like t he neutrals than it will be for me to 'recounter'! cheaper also. but I figured I love my sister's granite and it's colorful and has movement even. so I'm thinking maybe it's time for me to go with a change too. I told her I'd think there were bugs on my counter and never know if it's clean or not. She said ' just wipe it down each day and figure it's CLEAN!' and I thought 'what an idea - that might work!' lol! it isn't like there's anyone else here to make a mess on it but me... if worse comes to worse in a few yrs I can probably replace it if I find it BUGS me. I'm planning to do a number of things different in my new place than I've done in the past and it's kind of exciting i think!! I've no one else to consider in it since i'm single and the kids are grown and gone now. Not that anything is really that far out or weird - just different for me. If I have to get a seam in the corner I hope those putting mine in do as nice a job as yours did cause i can't see yours in the pic. I'm gonna have to ask around in this area to find a good laminate person.

First image is actually from the same plant. I wanted to include a good example of the foliage and the berries. I think the leaves with the berries might look bigger because they're in the foreground. Definitely in agreement about L. sinense. I will probably be chopping this enormous invasive bush down this winter and starting the fight to eradicate it from my property. 2nd specimen. Interestingly enough another individual said Photinia on Reddit. I'll try and get a good photo of the bark and a whole shot of the tree later. Regardless, I like this one and it will be staying. 3rd specimen. I really think this is I. vomitoria as well. It's little leaves are very distinct and look exactly like the examples I've seen online. We have 4 of them in a row along a neglected strip of our yard that I've recently been rehabilitating. They're overgrown but I like their natural shape. If I can really confirm this species I'd like to roast some of the leaves and try the tea that's made from them. I like these plants a lot and plan on cleaning them up a bit while trying to stay with their wild form. Thanks for your input!

PHOTO REQUEST: Stacked Kitchen Cabinets with 8-Foot Ceiling
Q
Comments (12)
You can’t do stacked cabinets with 8’ ceiling. It looks weird—squat cabinet on top of squat cabinet not a good look at all. Your ceiling will also appear lower with two rows of horizontal squat cabinets. It will also cut back significantly on useable cabinet storage space, and costs a boatload of money to look bad. The photos you linked of “the look you are going for” is of a kitchen with 10’ ceilings. If you are taking cabinets to meet your 8’ ceiling, I recommend 39” tall uppers and 3“ crown. The taller cabinets will give the illusion your ceiling is higher, and you’ll have good storage too. The upper cabinets that are next to the fridge can be glass-door cabinets if you want to store glassware and pretty china there.

Unbelievable! Lou, you are a master carver as well as a chef!
I loved your long weapons too. We shoot and I love those beautiful Italian shotguns, even though I would never pay the price. Your hand carved long rifles are even more lovely than those!

You know, Lou, if you put all those pictures on the Gallery they won't "fall off" so quickly and people could refer back to them for a longer time.

Plus, they don't even have to be food related, they can be anything. Well, within reason....

Annie:
Thanks but I never did that, because it didn't seem right to be talking about myself.
But then how would anyone know your work.

I was asked a long time ago to do this.
Guess it was about the time I sent you some Photo's to show your father.

Guess I will have to " LEARN HOW " to put them into the Gallery.

There are many Carvers who did beautiful pieces.

I got to know; as a friend, one of the Country's Best.
They called him the Grand Daddy of Bird Carving.

It takes a lot of time to get up into the World Competetion.
While raising a family I didn't have too much time to travel and work on Carvings.

One of my first pieces won me a Ribbon; in the Pro Class,
at the North Ammerican Wildfowl Carving Championship,in
Livonia, Michigan.

Antiquesilver:
I wanted to mention, there is a Silver Scroll piece on the Penna. Rifle.
I used it a washers for the Lock Bolts.

Thanks Everyone, I'll see what I can do.
