Another Piggy Sue pic

The past two mornings, I have taken her for a walk. It was really cute yesterday...Piggy Sue, my two dogs and about half my cats, strung out across the pasture. Today the dogs went but cats stayed home, and we went for a walk in the woods. I took my camera. Here is Zelda, her constant companion, with her. I don't know if Zelda's intentions are pure friendship or not. I have to watch her and scold her if she acts like she wants to get rough. Piggy Sue can get a whole lot rougher than Zelda, I am sure...so that is for Zell's protection.

Well, I tried to crop the picture because when I resized it, it was too small. I don't know how to remove the black around it, and have errands to do now, so will have to figure that out later.

Fran, your Bold Ms. Piggy is breathtaking, and so are all your other MG's! :) Mine are really doing well this year also. You have m any of the one's I have. That's one reason I think spaying her will be a good idea. She will be more satisfied just hanging around. Also, I think the SPCA, who sent her here in connection with the Wildlife Center, would feel very badly if she became unmanageable and hurt me or I had to find another place for her. The reason I call the wild one in the pasture "Baby"...that is what I call all the coons, etc. here. When I put out their food, I say, "Come on, babies...come on, babies."

I'm moving forward getting things ready to go to the DA. I decided to go to the DA and not just have the sheriff come out here and arrest him. I am going to talk to him in person, but I am also going to write a letter. This is more than the fact that someone stole and caused the death of a pet. This is a person with a rap sheet a mile long and one slap on the wrist after another. He thinks he can do whatever he wants and get away with it. He and his friend now have a couple of AR 15 rifles, I have been told. What now? They live on one acre or less. If you shoot one direction, that's the bayou...illegal. Another direction is the road. Illegal. To either side, other people's property...illegal. I have almost been shot twice by them, bullets whizzed past my head. I pressed charges the second time. The first time, he was young....I thought he would learn a lesson. No. I don't know if I have mentioned it here or not, but we have put this place up for sale. I thought eventually these two would grow up and move on....but they have gotten worse as time goes by. Too sorry to work because no one will hire them. I am ready to throw in the towel. I have been looking at a couple of places, and both are close enough, I can move my house....which we have put a ton of work into. I have never had bad neighbors. I have bent over backwards to get along with neighbors because I know how awful it is to live near someone and have problems. I don't have close neighbors now, but when you live near wooded property, all those people who don't have land, flock to it to hunt, fish, and ride their ATVs and generally make a nuisance of themselves. I went to Piggy Sue's vet today (in Galveston) and got a copy of her records that showed she has been spayed. I don't think any of my friends have been accepted as his friend on FB but I have enough to file charges. The pics would just be a little bit better. On my way back from Galveston, I stopped in a town where I used to live and ran into a guy I have known since he was a baby. His older brother was one of our best friends, who has since died. He hunts and fishes and knows a lot of people around here...and he said he would try to help me find someone who has the pictures. It may be a long shot, but worth a try.

Zelda is about a year old. I think she is a cross between a mini dachshund and a min. schnauzer. I never have to worry where Piggy Sue goes...Zelda stays right with her, and when I call the dogs, Piggy Sue comes running along with them.

Oh, how cute is that???? What a great action photo, too. Zelda looks like she's having to fly to keep up with Piggy Sue.

Awwwww...this reminds me of the touching youtube video I watched this morning of a doe and red tabby kitten (with Louis Armstrong's 'It's a Wonderful World' playing)..brings smiles and tears, I tell ya'. ;)

Marilyn, would've loved to have seen a video of your troop on their daily walk. :)

(PS: Just love all the names you think of for your friends...and Zell is my middle name.)

Marilyn- how big will Piggy Sue get when she's fully grown? It will be interesting to see future photos of PS and her canine clan.

They get big. I don't know about the females
but the males get huge. I joke and say that
they are about the size of a volkswagen, but from
pictures I have seen of ones that have been killed,
they are very big.

I would research more, but when I search feral hogs
on the internet, I find pics of dead ones hung up to
trees and dogs attacking them, and I find that
disturbing. At least, it is something I don't
want to see.

I will keep updating her progress as she grows.

She is very funny and playful. She likes to
take an old tee shirt and drag it around. She
likes for me to use it like a bullfighter
cape and she runs through it.

Today I went in the house, wearing sweats, and
came out wearing jeans, and she was startled
and didn't recognize me and ran away, but came back
when I called her.

She's a lot of fun.
