Top Chef Finale (last night)

I was rooting for Carla and was devestated at what happened. Why the heck she listened to her sous chef instead of following her heart was sad to watch. I knew as soon as she did that the competition was over for her. I am thrilled that Hosea beat out Stephan.

I was surprised to see Fabio as one of the judges, but glad to see that he chose Hosea over his BFF Stephan.

I thought it was a great show..and yes..I too couldn't believe that Carla didn't stick to her own!!!

I loved that Fabio was a judge and was super honest.

I too was rooting for Carla..but glad it was Hosea.

I didn't watch it but I did Tivo it. I am so sorry that Carla didn't win, I was really pulling for her!

I recorded, then stayed up late watching both shows last night. I was glad at the outcome, but I would have been glad with any of them winning. I had never heard of Hubert before this show, but have always liked both Chiarello and Bayless. I was a bit disappointed at Chiarello in the episode where the previous contestants from Top Chef came back to be sous chefs. But I wonder how much of the arrogance they showed him having was the editing. As for the finale, I loved the challenge they had to do. What a brilliant idea. I bet it was fun for the chefs to do, too. It's too early to tell about the new Top Chefs. I just hope they keep the bickering to a minimum. One of the things I loved about Top Chef Masters was there was little to no bickering, and everyone enjoyed each other's company. Sally

Ours free range inside a very large fenced area as well. We also have 2 dogs, but only my big boy handles the chicken guarding, our female is more of a people person er dog. He is a Great Pyrenees which is an ancient French livestock guardian. We first got chickens when he was still youngish, and we started them out in a chicken tractor and slowly introduced him to them. He sat by that tractor for hours watching them and finally we figured out we could trust him and they have been free range ever since. He is only pet stock, not from a working farm or anything but the temperament is innate. You just couldn't have a dog with any prey drive with chickens and that unfortunately rules out a lot of breeds. The great pyr is not for city living, they bark a lot and are very independent but they are amazing. I am sure his barking has scared off any predators in the area, our main issue would be coyotes here, they are everywhere in huge packs but so far no ground attacks. We have had hawk and owl issues... My husband saw an owl kill a duck and a Cochin chicken in the same attack.

I was rooting for Carla also. I don't understand why Stephan won so many challenges during the season, then they vote on the final meal? You would think that they would take into account all the things they prepared during the season and base their vote on that, not just squeaking by like Hosea did all season and then pulled off a good 3rd course to win $100,000.00.

love, Love, LOVED Carla!!! So disappointing that she didn't listen to her own heart . . . I think she's so modest and unassuming, that she doesn't trust in her abilities enough.

Even tho I hated Stefan's demeanor the whole way through, I thought he should've won over Hosea, who just coasted by on fumes the whole way. I think Stefan was in a different league as far as chef's go (as compared to Hosea) and that they edited him as 'the bad boy'; I don't think he was really as bad as they made him seem.

Fabio was fabulous! (drool, drool :) . . . but Carla: you were the winner in my heart!
