Oh yeah, baby! I loved Top Chef Masters. The level of the masters was sooooo high. But I'll watch the lower-level wannabes too, LOL.

I'm glad you brought up Top Chef Masters. I didn't know anything about this series, but happened to catch 2 out of 3 episodes on one night last week. I saw Michael Chiarello squeeze a pieced of preserved lemon with his MOUTH over a skillet. I just about gagged! Is that what he does in a fine restaurant? Surely the health dept wouldn't rate that as sanitary.

Gina, Project Runway starts tonight at 10 pm!

Caught the new Top Chef last night and slept through part of Top Chef Masters, but I was glad Rick Bayless won. I was hoping for either Rick or Hubert to win.

We get Bravo but it wasn't on....damn! David , yes I really like Chirarello , one of my favourites...and so is his cookbook ; )

I recorded, then stayed up late watching both shows last night. I was glad at the outcome, but I would have been glad with any of them winning. I had never heard of Hubert before this show, but have always liked both Chiarello and Bayless. I was a bit disappointed at Chiarello in the episode where the previous contestants from Top Chef came back to be sous chefs. But I wonder how much of the arrogance they showed him having was the editing. As for the finale, I loved the challenge they had to do. What a brilliant idea. I bet it was fun for the chefs to do, too.

It's too early to tell about the new Top Chefs. I just hope they keep the bickering to a minimum. One of the things I loved about Top Chef Masters was there was little to no bickering, and everyone enjoyed each other's company.

I watched them both last night and was thrilled that Bayliss won! I could have been just has happy that Hubert was the winner, but Chiarllo's 'tude bugged me.He probably would have won if that judge from Saveur Mag hadn't disliked his food/attitude(?).
You know what I really liked about Masters? That you really saw some real cooking skills and heard more about each dish. Frankly, I would have liked to hear more. What frustrates me about all of these reality cooking shows is that with all the editing and cutting back and forth, interspersed with deep thought monologues, you don't get enough info about the ingredients, prep and actual cooking tips to help you grow as a cook. The show just becomes reality show about cooking and not a cooking competition.

I loved the Top Chef Masters. I though any of the three finalists could win it. Now I want to go out and buy Bayless and Chiarello cookbooks.

The new crew on regular Top Chef is higher-quality than previous seasons. That will make it nicer to watch too. The brothers gimmick I could do without. It's like the couples gimmick they tried earlier.

The right chef got kicked. She wanted a lot of credit for using an unusual ingredient, seitan. Girl, the judges have seen it all and don't care what ingredient you use -- it just better taste good. Doh.

LOL, Gina! I'm also thankful that I don't have to spend more time looking at the enormous hoops stretching out her ear lobes!

Funny, I didn't even notice the earings, although I was kinda hoping the lip ring lady would be booted off so we wouldn't have to look at her mouth any more. And what's up with all the tats? I'm ready for them to go out of style.

Does anyone else think the guy that won this episode looks sort of like a bearded, red headed Emeril? I think it's the posture and the lack of a neck.

Sorry you don't have it in Canada Sharon. I know you and others have mentioned shows on TFN that you have but we don't get in the states. I really wish they would mix them in both ways.

Gina, I really enjoyed the masters show too. Like Ellen mentioned you do get a little more cooking and insight. I think you get that too as top chef winds down to fewer chefs.

Congrat to Bayless! I've been watching his show on PBS. I miss Chiarello on TFN. I always enjoyed his show, recipes, and ideas for entertaining. I can see how he might come off with an attitude at times but I honestly think he is a good guy that loves to cook and entertain.

I think they voted the right one off last night too.

Nothing to do with cooking but I like Mad Men on AMC...haven't watched the runway show...yet!
