Craig's List- finally my turn!

I rarely look at our local craigs's list but recently I got a bee in my brain that I wanted a black pedestal table in a corner of our living room.

I picked this one up today for $65. It's pecan, in excellent but not new shape, and is by Thomasville. It has a leaf to go with it also. 46" in diameter. I'll ditch the chairs or store them for another project.

I am going to paint it black and lightly distress it.

Unless there are any other ideas? Really, I can take it.

I think the table looks great.
Even the chairs aren't bad looking--I can imagine the chairs being painted in grey/off white w/ linen covered seats.

Great find and a bargain to boot! I think painting and distressing it black would be wonderful. I love CL.

I love all of the advice here. I LOVE the idea of opening up each listing in another tab. Who knew you can do that?? I tried it, and it saves so much time. I have been addicted to tabs since I started using Firefox years ago. And now Internet Explorer and other browsers also use tabs. I have been surprised to find out how many people I know don't know how to use tabs in their browser. They are a huge timesaver. Not so much back arrow clicking, makes shopping and surfing so much easier.

thanks.. it's good to know the glass is a good deal.. since I have only come across scraps, I don't know how much a real piece would cost.. I have looked at the glass on the glass store sites but never went as far as to compare prices at all. I know that I love the iridescent ones... and heck, I like all the colors...who wouldn't? so, he's going to call me, between 8 and 9am... I can at least see what's there and maybe have him hold some, for getting it in bunches...he's not moving...it's just that he said he doesn't need it any longer. winter is so close...it would be a great time to acquire it. I've been gone for the past few hours and have time to get my thoughts straight and actually have some ideas in mind to begin with.. like a unicorn, for the cancer survivor friend of mine..who collects special unicorns. and a moose, for one daughter who loves them... and a cabin in the woods.... ;(*_*);

It costs you nothing but a little time to put it on Craigslist. I would do it, start at 10% of whatever you paid for it originally, and be sure to include the Ã¢ÂÂor best offerÃ¢ÂÂ tag. BE SURE you mention that they will have to be responsible for moving it, if that is the case. Honestly, I could easily see that piece in a contemporary setting - grey is a HOT color today, and that, against a deep turquoise wall (THE color of the year)in a modern decor, would be great. Charcoal couch or sectional. A brass and glass coffeetable for a link to the brass on the cabinets like this: coffee table Some great lamps in something organic like wood. Good for you Bumblebeez, it's all in the timing and you certainly got a wonderful deal. I'd love to see it when finished. I'm looking for a round table too but haven't found what I want yet but continue to dog CL.

That is a great table--you got a deal! I actually like the chairs--you could probably easily resell them. I frequently see that style of chair painted and distresed for a sort of french shabby chic look. Good score!

I love it, too. I have been completely obsessed with CL lately. Please post follow up pics. I'd love to see the finished product!

Thanks everybody. I'll post pictures when I finish, probably several weeks from now. I'm no Reno fan whipping it out by Thursday!
