Agree with those above. I'm 31, and I can tell you I wasn't interested in 23 year old men as partners when I was 26, let alone 2 years ago at 29. No offense, but men that age have not sown enough wild oats for me! Things change after 25, and again after 30. Any girl who would play this game with you while being engaged would play it with someone else while you were with her. Ask yourself if you want to be in the shoes of her poor (future?) husband. Great for you, Always confused, you should change your name to "always wonderful", or "always a model for standing up for yourself". I agree with Emily, he has a nerve to say "i will always love you". See, he is manipulating you, trying to make you hang on with a thread to him, leaving you dangling, with that last statement. Its cruel. Throwing away a flippant "I love you" says a lot about his character. Makes you wonder if he says that to his fiance, does he know what it means. It reminds me of that Seinfeld episode, where the group goes up to a holidays house, to look at their friends baby, who turns out to be ugly. Elaine thought the doctor liked her, because he said she was "breathtaking", inflated her ego. Then he said the baby was "breathtaking", and she fell in a heap. The point is, the comment was flippant and the doctor probably said that to lots of people. Perhaps like the fiance cheater. Well my opinion is that he is making judgements, not opinions. An opinion is a thought that can be supported by facts. If people say things, that cannot be supported by facts - then they are just being plain judgemental. Being judgmental, in my opinion, is not a good thing, it can lead to bigotry and mostly people are speaking out , because of some sort of emotion. In the example that you gave, about his comments about homeless people, that rings alarm bells to me. He is making unsubstantiated comments about helpless people and it shows that he is not capable of compassion and understanding. I would be concerned, if I were you about your future life with such a person, who doesn't seem capable of empathy and compassion and a clear understanding of the good values in a person. Please rethink you path in life.

OP here. colleen, apologies if my words were confusing. I don't believe anyone thinks those who fell from the building did not do so on purpose. Certainly they knew it was just a faster way to escape the inevitable. But most newspapers decided to avoid the word 'jumpers' in an attempt to be more sensitive. to the families of those who made that decision. The falling man's identity was originally thought to be the loved one of a family who did not appreciate the speculation. They could not reconcile his choice with their religion's view on that subject. So they were elated when other photos showed what appeared to be an orange T-shirt, under the man's white shirt. The family said he didn't own an orange T-shirt and they were greatly relieved that the stigma felt, due to their religion, was now lifted. They felt more at peace, not knowing any precise details of their loved one's death. However the family of another man (who is now thought to be the correct identity in the photo) was contacted to discuss the matter. They agreed there's a strong possibility it is their loved one, and were not offended by the photo, even if his identity is ever confirmed. It was not after all, a gory photo of a pulverized body on the ground, but an image that will be an emotion evoking reminder, of the reality some faced that day. As well, a man in the documentary, noticed a female he believes to be his wife, (in other photos) falling from the same building. He said nothing could cause him greater pain than her death itself. But believing that she chose that route gave him peace, knowing she had access to another option and freely carried out her choice not to stay in the inferno. I myself wrote "In general, I don't see why close up pics of the dying or deceased are necessary for public viewing. Maybe a more distant photo to document the numbers, but identifying photos are only needed for investigations, IMHO." I do believe occurrences that will become historical events, (both joyous and tragic) should be photographed. But I'll specify that I consider images to establish the passing of an assassinated political leader, war enemy etc. different than photos not taken to provide proof of identity. I think many news photos could be less precise, in respect for family members, or at least require permission before publishing.
