Bachelorette last night...

Did ya watch? I'm wondering, do they have cameras in Jakes room 24/7 or was Ali's visit staged??? Then after not having a rose ceremony, Jake gets a phone call from Ali. I hope they aren't going to use that cheesy pretense that she had to quit for her job then come back later, like they did a season or so ago with Ed & Jullian. As time went by, I liked Ali less & less. Of the gals left, I like Gia the best which is probably the kiss of death for her as in the past the gal i liked best, always got eliminated. LOL What did ya think of last night???? Dottie

The whole Ali thing seemed a bit contrived to me. Just as you, I like Ali less and less as time goes on, and like Gia best. In fact, Gia is the only one of them I like. LOL

It won't surprise me a bit to see Ali return.

I was just wishing Ali would shut up and leave! Geez... so much drama! I guess she wanted Jake to promise her she'd be the last girl?

Does Tenley's voice bug anyone else? She should be gone next, she needs to get over her ex-husband before she gets into another serious relationship.

I thought about you all last night. And Helen, I was up about the same time you were. The TV weather picture was a sea of red and boy, was there water coming down! I had just shy of 3 inches in the rain gauge. My car trunk in the garage is covered with plants ready to go out, and I had even planted a darling little Supersweet 100 tomato a couple days ago. I knew better-- She got covered with some loose straw and a pot over her this evening. Surely our drought has been broken. I wondered this AM if I should be boiling water, as the last time we had that much water, it was after the tornado. But I thought maybe Folger's would take care of everything, and apparently there wasn't an order out after all. Not one tulip bloom was shattered, nor were any dogwood blooms knocked off, so all we had was rain. The thunder and lightning was terrible, though. "Our" storm pushed off east and made some big trouble today. So sorry. And I'm real sorry I didn't mow earlier! Sunny

I once had a hanging basket that had upwards of 30 or more blooms at once. This was in the days before digital cameras and I had no film in my old 35 mm. I had been watching the buds for days, and then one night about 10:30 I smelled the most delicious fragrance wafting in the bedroom window. It was blooming! Bob was asleep, the neighbor's lights were out so I had no one to share the magical event with. As Jim says all were gone by early morning. But I'll never forget it! People often thought it was a stag horn fern as it hung from low branches of a pecan tree by the pool. It was a huge and heavy thing and I'd lug it in the family room for the winter. One winter I didn't take it down in time to save it from freezing. :-( Oh well, beauty like fame is sometimes very fleeting, but I'm thankful for the memory.

I have to say that I have enjoyed quite a few guilty pleasures since I kicked my SOAB (except I love my MIL) DH out in February -- DWTS, AI, and now The Bachelorette. I've never watched any of these shows before and I LOVE them! I've enjoyed TB, even though it seems so contrived. Wes, the villain. Michael, sweet and clueless. Jake, Jesse and Kyptyn(?), eminently desirable. Tanner, what's with the feet? Ewww! Early on I liked Juan a lot, thought their careers and families would mesh well, but if the spark's not there, it's not there. It seems that many of the contenders didn't get much time with her, but that could just be the film editing. And there does seem to be a LOT of drinking going on. I'm kind of uncomfortable with the idea that at lunch she's practically necking with one guy, and later, with another. It does look like there's a "no tongues" rule, at least for the cameras. I think Jesse would be a good bachelor for a future show if he doesn't get chosen on this one. A handsome wine maker in Carmel Valley...sigh. Carmel Valley is like a micro Napa Valley, more bucolic and less congested. Scenery is amazing. I learned to walk at Lake Louise, so it was nice to see it. A few days exclusive use of a few luxury train cars, plus the entertainment, helicopters, etc.??? Goes to show how much the budget is since there's not that much in-your-face product placement, unless you're counting Wes, who you couldn't pay me to buy his potential CD. LOL

I don't think any of the things that Wes said in the limo was voice over. Facial expressions and hand gestures sure went along with what was coming out of his mouth. There is no doubt that Wes was in this to promote his career, heck any opportunity that came his way to plug his new cd, he took it and then some. The show definitely made him out to be a "bad boy", but as he said last night, he was there for "numero uno". I loved what he said to Reid at the Rose ceremony, "I'm gonna get alot of sex when I get home". LOL "The Bachelorette tell all" show will be interesting between Jake, Tanner and Wes.

Lydia...yes, I said just last night that her voice was a nerve grater. LOL And I, too, think she needs to move on from her ex. Is it the "poor me" ploy?

I wonder if Ali's scene wasn't a "beg me to stay, I am the last girl". And why did she drop to the floor in the hallway? This is all too reminiscent of Ed and Jillian.

But I guess it makes for good television. LOL

I really think it would have been funny if Jake had told Ali that she "was the one"... what would they do next? Would Chris have announced, "That's it folks show's over for the season, see ya next year?" Don't you think that the last two men on the show (Jake and that other one that picked Melissa then dumped her) have been really wimpy? You are right Dotmom. How could Ali's visit be a surprise to Jake when the cameras are in the room? AND, what is the world is wrong with this freaky little girl named Tenley? I thought I would die laughing when she started dancing for Jake. She acts as if she is 12 years old giving her first dance recital for her daddy. No wonder her first husband left her.....she's just plain goofy. Woman Up Tenley. You know Jake was looking at her wondering how fast he could get away from that crazy chick. Give me a break. Gia is probably too smart for Jake. He'll never pick her. Like others have said, I think he will end up with "I've got the crazy eye" Vienna. Ali is probably still crying in a corner somewhere. Listen girlfriend, don't leave a good job for a man who's dating three other girls....DUH... I am so angry at myself for watching this crap but, I can't help it. I've got the addiction... hope they all live long and prosper.ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

I think Gia is the most down to earth and mature one left.
Doesn't mean that he will pick her.

What gets me is that he says that he is falling in love with all 4, has feelings for all of them for different reasons. Yet once he does make his final pick, it will be another story, "I knew she was the one from our first one on one...yada, yada". Always turns out that way. Its all so contrived, every season gets more and more out there. I was disappointed to see last nights show go the same way with Ali having to leave because of her job as Ed did last season. I think she was just trying to get him to tell her she was the one, if it wasn't ABC's idea in the first place. The Bachelor website Forum is saying that she works for Facebook, sounds like work she could do anywhere. If he did choose her, wouldn't she have to consider relocating to be near him? Something sounds fishy....

Ali is such a manipulative tart. All those crocodile tears,pause,moan,peak through hands to see if they were having effect,more wails and tears, then the dramatic collapse in the hallway reminded me of a spoiled 3 year old trying get her way.

She saw her chances of being the final one slipping so tried to corner Jake into a proposal then and there.

They have conveniently removed her previous posts on Facebook now but just a couple of weeks ago they were still there. Her big "important" job(it's not a career yet) is less than a year old. She's in the ad dept. She's not some heart surgeon or computer techie who has to be on call. She just a newbie employee and you would think that if one were going on The Bachelor prior arrangements would have been made. I don't know when the Bachelor was filmed but it could be she didn't even have a job at the time since she posted drama and angst about hating her job, moving to SF,looking for work etc. She is nothing but a big drama queen in every facet of her life. LOL

I still like Vienna. It may be edit but I like the way she keeps herself together and just calmly watches the others make fools of themselves.

As for her job that's so much more marlarky.

Every season I say "Never Again" and every season I get sucked back in.

For those that are spoiler free & don't want to know some of the actual backgrounds of the girls OR Jake then .... WARNING DON'T CHECK OUT THIS WEBSITE.
You'll be as dissillusioned with this show as I was.
Still fun to watch though.
