Help Please, lemon, lavender AND anise too much?

Hello. I'm planning on making Something yummy with my fresh lavender and some dried from last year. I'm pretty much settled on a recipe I found, at a lavender farm's website, for lavender shortbread.

I've already decided I'd add a touch of lemon either to the shortbread or to an icing.

I had to go out to buy the butter (nope, not keeping that stuff in the house!) and, naturally, while I was there I picked up some anise seed.

Is this a good idea or yucky? I'm not a dessert person and usually make simple things with one or two flavors. Are three flavors too much? Is lavender too delicate a flavor to be mixed with something as strong as anise?

I'm kind of clueless with these things.

Any ideas or preferred tastes are quite welcome!
