Scary Moment!

Momatoad's post reminded me of a scary thing we had happen on our property a few years ago. We had a family that lived on our property in a mobile home and they had bought a house. They gave the mobile home to a family for the moving it off our property. At the time I did daycare in our home and we were outside. The dad of the family that was taking the mobile home came over to put tires on the mobile home. He had crawled under the mobile home and jacked up one side. The guy crawled under and was working on it when the mobile home shifted and landed on him. I heard him yelling and ran in to get my husband. My husband ran over and talked to the guy to try to calm him down. In the meantime I had called 911. My husband went to the barn and got a shovel and started digging to get him out. All the while he was digging he was talking to the guy. By the time the 911 guys got here my wonderful hubby had the guy out.

I think of this day often because of what could happened to this man. Had the trailer not been put in like it was he surely would have been crushed to death. The land was higher on one side and thankfully the mobile home shifted in that direction.

One of the older girls that was here said Larry was a hero. The man that he had dug out said, "Yes, he is my hero." I was just so thankful we were home when the guy came.
