I have to name several! Each, in its moment of perfection, is a rose to make one gasp and let the eye linger upon in pleasure. 'Better Times' is probably my favorite; the coloration and form of the flower, and the way the color of the foliage complements the flower's color, makes the opening of each blossom an event. Its sport-sibling 'Briarcliff' is splendid as well. The HMF photos don't really capture the purplish-blue tone of the magenta red of 'Better Times'; the wonderful moire effect of 'Briarcliff' can be detected in some of the HMF photos, though. 'Snowbird' is wonderful in every way. 'Peach Beauty' is impressively beautiful when opening and for a day or two after (it then gets forgivably blowsy). 'Marceline' has a perfection of form and elegance of coloration which is striking. The HMF pix don't quite capture it. 'Maman Lyly' is breathtaking in form, changing coloration, and fragrance. 'Chrysler Imperial' will always be my favorite red rose. The various Radiances, eh (shrugs), I used to be enthusiastic about them; now, not so much. I like them because they're tough, and because the various colors of the varieties complement each other beautifully (I have them all next to each other). The much-praised fragrance is rather too citrusy for me (same, to my nose, with 'La France'). For me, the best of them is the original, 'Radiance', with its attractive contrast of colors; and the color of 'Mrs. Charles J. Bell' is particularly beautiful when beside magenta and purplish-red roses (mine is near a 'Pergolese'). But, I ramble...

2006 was an unusually rich book year for me. Most years I am lucky to find one or two outstanding reading experiences, and perhaps half a dozen more that come close. It is amazing how many books I read to get those few peak experiences. Must be an addict, I suppose. Here were the highlights of 2006, the books I could not put down, and hated to have end. This is difficult to narrow down. Here goes: Book: "To Kill a Mockingbird". I read it at least once a year. Song: "Till There Was You" , Beatles. DH and I used to sing it to our babies. He would play it on the guitar and we would both sing. Maybe that's why they went to sleep so quickly-to escape our singing! Movie: Dr. Zhivago. On a snowy night DH and I went to see the movie and were only a handful of those who braved the storm to see it. It was in an old theater with the red velvet drapes around the screen. Oh that's easy - Tigger for sure. I love him. He's always so happy! ;) My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast.

Thumper is my favorite and Yacky Doodle (not Disney tho) is a close second. Bambi was the first movie I ever saw too.

When DD was born Sears (who held rights to the Winnie the Pooh line) gave a free Tigger stuffed animal when you first shopped their infants department.

Never gave it much thought but fast forward to DD's teens and suddenly she falls in love with Tigger. She now has a collection of Tigger stuff to fill a room. She has a Tigger costume she wears all sorts of places. We are about to build a new costume this year which will be "Psychedelic" Tigger. LOL

I don't have a favorite Disney character. Bamm-Bamm (the original) is my guy. But I think my DD is "Tiggerific".

They are all very cute, I think, but remember a good deal of them were not originally "Disney" characters but characters from other sources, like Winnie the Pooh for example.

Goofy.
When I was in HS a Goofy movie came out starring Goofy as the dad, with his son, Max. There was a scene always in the ads on TV that said "Life's rough when your dad's Goofy." My dad is goofy, we used to laugh at that and quote it when dad did something goofy.

DD loves Tinkerbell, has since she knew who it was. We have a lot of Tinkerbell stuff! She even has Tinkerbell's attitude. ;o)
