Octo-mom's Doctor......

It was in this morning's paper, the Dr who implanted oct-mom, has also implanted a 49 yr old CA woman and she is expecting 5 babies. SOMEBODY STOP HIM!!!!Dottie

I think she's just having 4, not 5. She's on bed rest for the next few months. She has no insurance, so this will be another CA taxpayer-financed family. It is so outrageous. The State of CA should sue this doctor. He's as irresponsible and delusional as Ms. Suleman.

The woman, who has three adult children already, is around five monthsÂ pregnant, and has been admitted to hospital where she is expected to remain until the birth, the Los Angeles Times reports. It is understood that Dr Kamrava transferred at least seven embryos, made from donor eggs, into the woman.

Fertility guidelines recommend that no more than five embryos should be transferred into IVF patients over the age of 40

The LA Times reports that the 49-year old expectant mother has three adult children, but wanted a baby with her new husband, who is believed to be almost 20 years her junior.

Thank goodness there is a husband/father in the picture, and that he is young enough to be energetic and hopefully a lot of help to this older mom.

Yes...that doctor needs stopped, and soon!

Look for "gerentology" on the shingle and/or put these concerns on the table at the head end. I've had considerable experience with the over-medication syndrome and failure-to-monitor syndrome among doctors in my mother's (95) case. Older people have different sensitivities than younger ones and they can also change pretty quickly and don't bounce back as quickly. There was one occasion I recall when one doc said something like "Try this and if there's a problem, get to emergency and get checked out." My response was something like "Doctor do you have any idea what it's like going to emergency?" And, actually, he didn't. This is a risk to be avoided and indicates an overly-casual attitude on the doctor's part. I know this is difficult, but you may be able to sort out quite a bit by talking to the staff first. Not every doctor is intersted in this kind of patient. You need one who is interested and is willing to focus on what's important. Not only in the beginning, but along the way. Sometimes it takes a while to get the balance right. You find that acknowledgement and willingness. It may require person-to-person discussions with staff explaining your particular concerns and and experience in order to find the right one. Sure did for me. It was a pain, but well worth it. Without it, mom would have died 12 years ago. As it is, she's healthy and vibrant.

Personally I think social services should take all the children put in foster homes and she should be investigated where the money is coming from and it should be put in a trust to pay bills and for the children. She should get nothing. Sorry, the press should give her no publicity. too many of the children and families in this country who really try to make it are getting nothing. Thousands are really struggling, low paying jobs, no medical and those who need help. Not this person who does nothing, even does not take care of her children at home. Just makes me MAD.

Is there a way you could get another plate, or even bring one and cut the portion down yourself or one of the nurses? I understand how they couldn't do it in the prep area there but it does seem like a good idea if she's feeling frustrated over the amount. It could be she hates to waste food. I imagine the hospital staff probably can't touch the food themselves and you probably wouldn't want them touching it anyway. Lack of appetite isn't unusual. She's not working up an appetite! I'm just always concerned over dehydration in people and animals both. I don't think enough people understand the seriousness of dehydration and if you've never been dehydrated, you don't understand how sick you really feel, plus the actual damage to the body. Maybe some of the little "stick" additives they have for water could help give her something she might like. Does she like lemonade, fruit punch or something? Maybe a different flavor could get her drinking more. I like to hear she's feisty and even planning menus! That's good. Keeps her mind active and distracted from other issues. Attitude can mean a lot for recovery and treatment. And that was really nice of the guy to help her see the sunset that day. I know that being able to see outside meant a lot to me when I was in the hospital way back when. There's not a lot more peaceful scenes than a nice sunrise or sunset. Oh I agree with you. I actually wouldn't care either if SM saw my child's medical records either because honestly I couldn't stop her or control her if I tried. She is married to BD and if he has them, she has them. I tend to do all of the things in our situation so this wouldn't come up at all. part of keeping my 'control' of being the 'mother' is to make sure I am available to take dd to the doctor or dentist etc. If I start delegating out my 'jobs' I might feel that SM is taking over my 'territory' but a lot of mom's don't or can't take on the responsibility of dr visits and SM ends up doing it and then BM is screaming, these are my kids!! Which I believe if I am doing my job, then SM doesn't have to do it and therefore I do not feel territorial or that she is stepping into my place... If your BM is ok with you doing those things then that's great and no one here should be concerned about it. What might be of concern is if you were overstepping and taking over while BM just wasn't faster than you (which I have dealt with) and there was a power struggle of 'who's job' it is... Then there might be concern..

that doctor certainly needs to be investigated ASAP!!
with the world already overpopulated, IMO, there should be some guidelines, maybe even laws, initiated to stop this kind of madness

One would think there would be laws requiring a full psychiatric evaluation BEFORE getting anything done with embryos. Same with plastic surgery.

Remember that doctor some years ago who used his sperm for artificial insemination for all his patients? There were about 25 kids who were half-siblings! Gross!

I read that her father said she lied and made up that Solomon name for the birth certificate but I haven't heard anymore so I'm not sure if it was confirmed.

TMZ has a picture of her getting a professional manicure today. I haven't even painted my nails since Nick was born over 5 years ago. How does a mother of 14 find time to go to a nail salon only a few weeks after giving birth to octuplets?
