Hi everyone -- I'm so sorry, I let this thread get away from me after asking for a clarification! I really appreciate all the pictures of your granite sinks. I am still strongly leaning toward warmfridge's anthracite cascade sink. I don't really know why I'm so taken with the sink but it seems to be some weird emotional thing... I can just tell that's the sink I will end up buying though I can't really justify it at all; it just seems like what a sink should be to me. It's a darn good thing those who have it seem to like it, though I doubt I'd like it so much if I'd been reading negative reports. Thanks for the context-pictures.

I commented on this thread a while back when I was trying to decide between the silgranite white or a darker color. I really wanted white because I thought it'd be prettier but I was afraid of the potential staining problems. Well I went for it and got the silgranite super single sink in white from home depot online. Even though the pictures don't show it, I bought the matching grate as well. I think the grate is a good investment as it protects both the sink and your dishes if you happen to drop them. It's been about 7 months now and I'm still so happy with my choice. I haven't had any problems with staining. I am careful with it as I would be with any item that cost me $300+ but I don't feel it's extreme. I always rinse out the sink after I use it and do at least a weekly clean with a liquid soft scrub unless I've done a lot of cooking. I have a bunch of microfiber cloths I got from Amazon that I use to wipe off any water spray on the counters' edge by the sink. I am meticulous about this because I have very hard water. Overall I love this sink. It's functional and beautiful.

Chris45ny, all you can do is give me your opinion and I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Westiegirl, glad to hear you have not felt the need to get a sink grid after 4 months. I must say that I am a little suspicious of the HD sink. We hear that often, about items not being the same from super stores - usually faucets & such. Breezygirl, odd how we feel like we know you because we have heard & seen so much from you. I am especially glad you replied because I know you have the same metallic grey color as I do and I knew you didn't start out with a sink grid. I suspect I will hate them too, as I didn't care for them the few times that I washed at other people's sinks with grids & have hated things getting trapped under there & things not able to stand in the sink, etc. Mabeldingeldine, glad to hear you have put that sink through a lot & super hot water to boot. Awesome news! Maybe the problem is in extremely cold areas? I am a little envious of the thought of your garden & even more envious of your chilies! Spicy, my favorite. I have a small outdoor deck where I grow flowers. Nowhere for veggies & such, but I still love tinkering in my little garden. A2gemimi, I haven't forgotten you & I have been lurking late at night. serviceplumberman, Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't know about a rough-in sheet. I did check online the specifications sheet for the sink and it didn't give the information I need. I have contacted Blanco to ask about the rough-in sheet. For anyone else out there who might like to take a stab at this question here are some measurements. Sink base cabinet a standard 34" height. Current waste drain stub 16'' from the finished slab floor. (10'' from floor of cabinet and the floor of the cabinet is another 6'' from the finished slab floor). Sink in question is Blanco Silgranit Diamond 1 and 3/4 undermount. Deeper side is 9 1/2'' and shallower side is 8'' deep. My worry is whether I would have to lower the waste drain which I think is a big job in order for the deeper depth side of the sink to drain properly. I hate to buy the sink and have it installed under the granite countertop only to realize that the waste drain needs to be lowered. I'm trying to think through the realities before buying any product. Thanks for any and all advice!
