Mangos

While I was at Central Market yesterday picking up English Cheddar Cheese (after being enticed by Kyle (cookebook) to get some) I tasted a sample of Mango. They were on sale for 99cents each. No idea if that's a good price but it was sweet and tasty so I bought one.

Firstly, cutting it up was not really easy. It was very difficult to get it off the pit. I was probably not doing it right!

Secondly, eating it this morning, it's really good flavorwise, sweet and juicy. But some pieces of it leave my mouth with a sort of chalky feeling. Is that normal? Does it have to do with how ripe the fruit is? Not all bites do this so I'm sort of mystified.

What's the deal - anyone know?
