I stupidly put the washer on the right - what would you do?
Comments (19)My new house has the same setup - won't be finished for another 6 months so I can't say I have any experience with it. I can tell you that I always assumed the washer was next to the sink. This is how it's been in my last two houses. This is how the new house was supposed to be according to the plans. Then the day the plumber started working he had some questions about the master shower so I left work to go meet with him. He did mention to me that "they" had decided to switch the washer/dryer. I thought no big deal, it's fine. Then after more thinking it started to really bug me. Apparently the super was asked and he made the decision to switch because that is how they have their setup. Again - not a big deal, I don't use the sink much anyway. I currently have top loads but plan to get front loads some point after we move in. I started thinking about the door swing and if they are reversible. I'm glad to hear some are but disappointed that some aren't. This will definitely be a factor when I start seriously looking....See MoreI stupidly put the washer on the right - what would you do?
Comments (7)If all the things you mentioned (gas, electrical, plumbing, vent) have to be relocated, you may find buying the Miele washer less expensive than relocating the services. In reality the choice of going with the Miele is only a partial solution. The washer would work out great. The Miele dryer will probably be a problem. You've no doubt designed your venting for a dryer where the duct connects to the dryer roughly centered on the back of the dryer. Why wouldn't you do this? Afterall, 99.999% of the dryers on the market have atleast one of their connection points in the center-back. The Miele big capacity dryers has it's vent connection on the back-left side so it won't line-up with the dryerbox. You could easily use your existing dryer (with door flipped) if your not concerned with needing matching appliances....See MoreOne Fix For Malfunctioning Bosch Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser
