Toto not Sitting Flush with Tile, Now what?

Oh, I so hope someone has a fix for this.

We knew going in that the bathroom floor wasn't level.

We used a floor leveler and when dry we measured ever which way from Sunday to make darn sure the floor was level, even

hand-sanding two high spots.

We added the tiles and after laying each tile we tapped the tiny high spots down and again, used our levels.

During the drying of the tiles we kept putting a level, front to back, side to side, corner to corner of the 8 tiles laid.

At each measurement, everything was spot-on and we were soooo proud of ourselves for taking the extra time to make sure everything was perfect for the seating of our Toto.

And now --- Look!

I added a black line to the photo to show the area in question where the Toto doesn't sit flush with the tile.

What did we do wrong?

How do we correct it short of removing the tile and starting over with just that one tile?

Won't plastic spacers leave a gap that has to be filled, but filled with what?

*sigh* I'm so disappointed as we thought we were doing everything so right. Obviously not.

No wax ring on the toilet -- we were doing a dry fit.
