Good Morning on Monday

We are in for another round of snow starting this evening. They are saying 4 to 8 inches. I guess it depends where you are. I am going to get groceries with Amber as she is in need of some things. I am okay but will get a few things since we are going. There are several 2 hour school delays in our area. How is the weather where you are, are you waiting for more snow?

Marilyn, you need to move to Florida! We were a balmy 40 degrees this morning - we're FREEZING! It's slated to be 70 this afternoon, but come sundown, we will slide down to 45 - almost all of we NW Florida folks are sick with the creeping crud!

We've had over a foot of snow, and 3-4 more coming tomorrow. Our power was off for about 36 hours, so glad to be warm again!

Well why didn't you say there was a party going on here?? LOL Seriously, I can't believe how long I have been MIA. I am okay just busy. I had a wonderful camping trip; in fact, it was enchanting. The field was covered with second cut red clover and the Monarch and some other small yellow butterfly were just everywhere in the field. It was truly beautiful to watch them dance in the sun. The moon was full and rose in a big orange ball each evening and then gave way to soft light through the light. The kind of light I could look out of my trailer and see the girls sleeping in the grass...........wonderful. The true topper this year was the performance of bluebirds who visited our camp in masses of 12-20 at a time. No kidding, I have never seen anything like it. They would come and sit on the horse fencing and sing and flirt. It was truly amazing........if only I could have gotten a photograph. They must be gathering for migration as the butterflies are. The horses were energetic as it was cool and we had some wonderful miles long cantors and trots! It was so nice and I had so much fun. The weekend almost ended in disaster as we were walking the horses down to the sandy brook for a cooling off Sweet Pea fell down and landed on her side. She was really struggling and I did not know what had happened or how to help her. Suddenly, she laid still and righted herself and got herself up. When she was safe investigated and she had fallen into a bottomless hole which was no doubt a woodchuck's hole. These are the holes that snap horses legs in two. I was almost nauseaous when I looked down into that hole. She had some swelling her fetlock but she was fine the next day. I shudder to think of what had happened if I had been riding her when that happened. Ugh, perish the thought! Anyway, she was fine and the weekend was wonderful. You all are right, it's very quiet here!! SO, where is everyone???? Not much else new here - just work, work, work. DeeMarie, I am SO DISAPPOINTED that you don't have a photo of you on or at least NEAR a horse. You didn't even touch one????? Glad you had fun.

Donna - DeeMarie forgot to tell you that she is our resident motivator, butt kicker and cheerleader! I am one of the priviliged that got to not only meet her once, but twice and she has a beautiful smile and sparkle in her eyes that warms your heart immediately. Just some more insight to some of the people here, we have busy busy Jen who made us all aunts and uncle with 2 precious girls since we have known her, Tikanis although relatively new in comparison, fit in all too quickly - she is adventurous and has a warped sense of humor (that's why I like her), I don't think you met Patti yet, no matter what she is facing she remembers each and everyone of us (WHERE are you Patti & Dave?), there is also Gretchen from the windy city and she blows in just long enough to catch up and then disappears (very busy at work, etc.) but we miss her. Which reminds me Lynn hasn't been around in quite a while, I hope all is okay with her. I haven't kept track of who was mentioned, but I am sure there are others I haven't mentioned - but everyone here has something unique to offer and that's why this place is so special. I am getting sappy in my old age. Jen - I was the one to leave all my friends behind and I never thought they could be replaced - well they can't - but fortunately you find new friends and still have your old ones. I stay in touch with my closest old friends, but not on a regular basis (as they are ALL computer illiterate LOL), but when we do talk or get together, it is like we haven't missed a day. It does get better. Tikanis - Someone asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I couldn't think of anything - I said I felt I had all I needed and didn't want anything. I felt just like you said, thankful and grateful for what I do have. I love the gingerbread house making party with DD - those are the things I like to do. You found yourself a great place to work. Menu: B - Smoothy S - 3 bagel chips (I had an uneasy stomach from the night before) L - 2 eggs Christmas Realtors Party: S - Appetizers before dinner, shrimp & scallops wrapped in bacon, vegie skewer, deviled egg D - 2 Beef fajitas with no tortilla NO alcoholic beverages, plenty of water The night before, I thought I had 3 glasses of wine, which was bad enough, but my DH said that the waiter and a friend filled my glass at dinner more than once - so who knows how many I had and we ate very late, so we had drinks on an empty stomach. I paid dearly for it yesterday, bad headache, uneasy stomach and exhausted. I wasn't a whole lot of fun last night - but boy you should've seen me the night before. The next day a casual acquaintance, kept telling DH that he had no idea how funny I was - I don't have a clue what he's talking about - but I sort of remember it had something to do with an air guitar. Too Much Information!

I ventured out today. First time since last Wednesday when I was so sick I thought I was going to pass out in Publix. Went to our mail center and got the mail and mailed out some bills, then went to the grocery. I went to Winn-Dixie, which is just outside our gate in a shopping center. It's never very crowded and I didn't need much. I like that store. The aisles are wide and not crowded since everyone goes to Publix a couple blocks away. Felt a little shaky when I got home, but not bad. Now Harry's coming down with what I had. Poor guy!! Nothing else I really need to do around here since the house got a good cleaning last week (when I was sick) before my sister came and the laundry is pretty well caught up. We had such a good time, but we sure talk a lot!! You should just hear it when all 7 of us get together. We're worse than "The View".

Isn't it amazing how quickly the years go by. I'm struggling with weight loss right now. It's so hard with the holidays. I figure if I just don't gain anything in the next few weeks that's an accomplishment. Good luck to you and Happy Birthday to your son.

Good morning Sue. We're having the same weather that you are. I am so ready for winter to be over. There is a one hour school delay here due to the Colts game. From what the paper said last week, they expected the bus drivers to do a lot of celebrating after a win. I'll be out and about this afternoon. Hope any bad weather holds off until I get back home.

Now you all know I love snow, why would I want to move where there isn't any! Izzi and I have fun out in the white stuff!

We had about three inches,I think. I have an appointment this morning. so hope the car can plow right through it.

Well northern Delaware had about 24" Saturday and are now awaiting a new storm tomorrow night into all of Wednesday....chance of another 12+ inches of snow...guess I should take down the cute sign hanging outside saying "Let it Snow"

We are suppose to get more starting tomorrow. Have to take my aunt into her doc.appt and grocery store this afternoon so I'll get a few things too just in case I can't get out later.

It's so pretty outside right now though.

We got about 15" of the white stuff Fri/Sat. My son has my sidewalk and around my car shoveled out in case there's an emergency but I won't go out otherwise. I just hate that Sue won't add another 4"-7" to her expected snowfall so that I won't get it here in Ohio. :*) She WANTS the snow and I have had more than enough this winter to suit my taste.

It was 32 degrees at my house this morning Kayjones! Beloved had ice on his car parked in the driveway because our garage is full of our daughter's stuff. Right now it is 60 degrees, windy and cold, at least for Florida..LOL

I've not done much today, just quilted on the star quilt in my frame. It is coming along nicely, I'm 3/4 done with it!

Morning's waaay over but it was cold this morning. The sun is bright and sunny and no wind though. It was a good day to get the laundry caught up.

Good evening, Marilyn Sue. It's cold here, still have a small amount of snow on the ground, most of it has melted. I have no idea if we are expected to get more. Haven't been watching local news.

Trying to get over this bronchitis. On meds and neb treatments. Getting ready to take a hot shower so I can breath easier. I hate being sick. I was supposed to go back to work today after being on vacation for about 10 days. But, I have a doctor's excuse for two days. I just hope I feel better by Friday when I'm supposed to go back.

Alex went grocery shopping for me yesterday. He did good, got everything but the Take Control because he couldn't find it. Spent a whole lot less than I would've too. Maybe I'll let him do the shopping from now on. At least until he goes to college. He's been accepted to UK in Lexington and got a small scholarship. I'm hoping he gets another bigger one. We'll see.

Kath: I hope you get to feeling better and all well soon. On your comments of Alex doing so well with the grocery shopping: My oldest DD did so well that I turned over the biwkly grocery budget money to her on paydays....that was her junior and senior yrs. When she went away to college, I had a dickens of a time readjusting to having to do it myself. If he's willing, enjoy it while it lasts.
