Hello everyone!

We had a wonderful time in Tennessee. I got to see a completely different side of life in America. My friend is not taking very good care of herself but I think I managed to get her thinking about changing some things to improve her health. We will be staying in closer contact so maybe I can get those boots out to virtually kick some butt. Although I did not ride her (six) horses, I did look at them in her barn, and I actually "touched" one of her 6 dogs (that's a big deal for me - LMAO!). When I download DH's pictures, I'll send one along to Marci for our photo album.

Today was an awesome day. Bob got up early with me and we went out to pick up our order of Tangelos and on to the Mennonite Market... Did a little shopping and then back home again.. I sorted through some old coffee mugs and will be putting them in the spring yard sale for the Hope Fund at church..I know I will have tons more too. Christmas stuff especially.. I have waaaaay too much in the way of Christmas ornies.. I just keep the ones with sentimental value to them like some hand painted ornies my mom did and little gifts of ornies from a lot of really nice online friends I have met over the years.. Carolyn, It is so amazing when you can get more order in your life by purging what is just not working to the good in your life.... Hanging on to what is doing absolutely nothing but draining you either financially or physically or spiritually is not worth it... Kick it to the curb or give it away or sell it or donate it... but yeah.. don't let it drag you down.. sometimes things can act as an albatross around you neck..and will keep you from doing other things that really are worth while... besides, if you give it away or donate or so... then someone else may garner a really great blessing from it.. and guess what... your blessings will increase too..Just because you remove something from your life that is doing you no good, doesn't mean it doesn't have value.. to someone else it may be just fantastic.. It is turning cold for the next week, so walking will be brisk.. and not really long treks.. just a mile and a half.. and that's it.. toes get cold after that.. lol So ar this year I have walked every day.. and still watching my intake of calories.. so it's all good. Keep on keeping on folks.. and thanks for the squeezy hugs Dee.. we always can use a hug or two.. Stay well everyone.. CS

Happy Friday!!! TIGIF for sure. I am hoping to get my two fields and lawns mowed! That is if it doesn't rain which it may. It's a huge project and I should have been doing a little each night this week but I didn't. I also hope to get some gardening in. My tomato plants are on the porch hardening off now but I won't be able to plant them until the end of this month. I can put my lettuce, spinach, carrots, beans, etc in. Seriously, just last week we got a foot of snow in northern NH!! Casey has a major swollen eye this morning. Not completely swollen shut. It was so windy the last few days - really high winds she probably has some sand or something in there. I will go check her at lunch and if it's worse I need to call the vet. Poor girl looks like she got slugged. Tikanis, sounds like you have a nice full and fun weekend ahead. Maddie, I know you aced your finals. It's s done deal you got A's across the board! Maddie, I used to ride a bike with Mark until I got horses! Mark has a Harley of course and my bike is an old Kawasaki that starts every time....unlike the Harley which I call flipper because of the cute little noise it makes when it doesn't want to start. For this trip we are renting a full dresser so we will be riding in comfort. I am getting excited about this trip. Donna, thanks for the info on Philly. We are going to stay at Penn's Landing. Seems like we will be able to see a bit there. We are only there for the night so a nice room and a good meal are going to be our main priority. I am sure we will see enough but during my research it sure seems like a really nice city to visit and spend some time. But if I can't bring Sweet Pea I don't want to go usually! LOL Marci is going to Florida to spend mother's day with her kids! Next??

Hi, everyone. Thanks for the kind thoughts. It has been a month since I lost Bobby, and I am just going through the motions. So much to do, and just can't shake being overwhelmed. I'm trying to be "normal." My neighbors have had me to dinner several nights, again tonight. My friend who used to help with my pre-Katrina yard called and invited me to go to a movie with his friend. He knew how much I loved the book "Water for Elephants" so we went to see the movie. (Robert Pattison is so gorgeous, and Hal Holbrook makes me cry.) Our best friends who live out of town call at least once a day to check on me. I've gotten where I report in to them, like a teenager, if I'm going to be out. We've made a joke out of it, but it warms my heart that they care so much. Ivamae, I'm so glad you're handling radiation so well. Have they given you any cream for your redness? There's no reason you should have any discomfort while enduring treatment. When my sister was having radiation, I remember finding a cream online, actually created by a doctor whose wife had gone through radiation while battling (and winning) her fight against breast cancer. My sister said it helped a lot. He had a complete line of related products, such as shampoo, etc. If I can find more info, I'll let you know. Again, thanks to all of you for thinking of me. The girls' weekend sounds like so much fun - I also can't wait to hear all about it.

Looks like we're all having a busy weekend! I'm happy to report my weight is shifting down - I've recovered from last weekend's visit with my pal and all that food. I've moved from 145 to 143/142ish. Quite happy with that. Slow and steady is my goal. I will stop losing when my body tells me to. I'm focusing on proper portions and healthier food choices. I figure I will settle on a weight when my food balances with my body. Anything around 130-135 is my goal to maintain. Anything lower than 128 I have to be careful because that is a teenager weight and not healthy for me at this age. Too easy to get sick and have little to help me recover from. Besides, I don't do 'thin' - I'm a curvy build and thin looks awful on me. Got there once in the military and everyone told me I looked gaunt. If I were born to be tall fine, but I'm not. My goal is to be able to garden without back spasms and be able to jolt up a couple of flights of stairs without losing my breath. Maintaining a healthy weight is the biggest challenge, not the weight loss. So I plan to be here for some time to come. We're off to the in-laws this weekend. DH's brother is moving back out west after a year of unsuccessfully seeking work in mapping. He's been working 'online' from his original job out west but since nothing has happened in this area he's moving back. He's been living in his parents basement for all this time - not funny. Time to go. I'll miss him but glad we had the time to know him better. Also going to drive a wee bit down a county road tomorrow to practice my driving. Looking forward to that too. I don't do highways because I am not comfortable making turns at higher speeds yet. Take care, I will try to get online this weekend. Cheers, Peggy

Deemarie your trip sounds fabulous. Can't wait to see the pics. I love Tennessee. It is so pretty.

Well, DH won another trip to Hawaii. We have our choice, Hawaii or Cancun?? I am almost picking Cancun. Not sure yet.

I need a weight loss plan that is going to work for me. I have exercised with the Firm for 6 months now and I am still at the same weight I started. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Tikanis, Dee, Donna, Jen - what the heck is going on around here?

Dee - I have only been to Tennessee once but it was great - we were in Knoxville and rented a cabin in the woods - the cabin was actually bigger and more modern than the house we lived it at the time LOL. I'm glad you had a good time and will be keeping tabs on your friend.

Donna - Thanks for checking in but we need more info LOL.

Tikanis - I sent you an email last night.

Jen - I have been to Hawaii (Maui) once and Cancun 4 times and would take Maui over Cancun, however the trip to Cancun is so much quicker. I think it really depends on where you stay in Cancun. The people are wonderful and the beach is gorgeous. Let me know if you have a hotel name, I may be able to give you some input on it. I have been going to the trainer since February and didn't start losing weight until I started Carb Addicts in July. I have lost 13.5 lbs and find it very easy. I was careful with what I ate most of the time before I started the diet (mostly SS), but my weight never budged. I don't know why this one works for me, it just does and it is an easy diet for me to live with.

We are ready to hear from the rest of you MIA.

WOW, it's a party!

Come on people.....check in. If you bought Halloween candy early and ate half a bag, we need to hear from you. If you called for a pizza and downed 4 slices, come here for forgiveness. If you ordered wine with dinner (Raeanne? Suzanne?), that's OK!

We are meeting friends for dinner at The Macaroni Grill to celebrate a birthday. (I did not pick this place!) Trouble on the horizon unless I get myself an online menu and decide on low fat items before we go.

QOD: What are your plans for the weekend?

We hope to work on the house and then go to the Jets/New England game on Sunday afternoon.

Well why didn't you say there was a party going on here?? LOL

Seriously, I can't believe how long I have been MIA. I am okay just busy.

I had a wonderful camping trip; in fact, it was enchanting. The field was covered with second cut red clover and the Monarch and some other small yellow butterfly were just everywhere in the field. It was truly beautiful to watch them dance in the sun. The moon was full and rose in a big orange ball each evening and then gave way to soft light through the light. The kind of light I could look out of my trailer and see the girls sleeping in the grass...........wonderful. The true topper this year was the performance of bluebirds who visited our camp in masses of 12-20 at a time. No kidding, I have never seen anything like it. They would come and sit on the horse fencing and sing and flirt. It was truly amazing........if only I could have gotten a photograph. They must be gathering for migration as the butterflies are.

The horses were energetic as it was cool and we had some wonderful miles long cantors and trots! It was so nice and I had so much fun.

The weekend almost ended in disaster as we were walking the horses down to the sandy brook for a cooling off Sweet Pea fell down and landed on her side. She was really struggling and I did not know what had happened or how to help her. Suddenly, she laid still and righted herself and got herself up. When she was safe investigated and she had fallen into a bottomless hole which was no doubt a woodchuck's hole. These are the holes that snap horses legs in two. I was almost nauseaous when I looked down into that hole. She had some swelling her fetlock but she was fine the next day. I shudder to think of what had happened if I had been riding her when that happened. Ugh, perish the thought!

Anyway, she was fine and the weekend was wonderful.

You all are right, it's very quiet here!! SO, where is everyone????

Not much else new here - just work, work, work.

DeeMarie, I am SO DISAPPOINTED that you don't have a photo of you on or at least NEAR a horse. You didn't even touch one????? Glad you had fun.

No Suzanne, I did not touch a horse, but I DID watch them from a window about 100 yards away....does that count? LMAO!!!!!

Good Evening All,

I am back from wedding bliss! The wedding was just wonderful. The weather could not have been more perfect and everything ran pretty smoothly. Ofcourse there were a few glitches, but anyone attending would not have known. It is such a let down now that it is over, like the day after Christmas, only worse. I will post some pictures when we get them back from the photographer, but I will try to post a picture here that I took of my DH and two DS at the house getting ready. They all looked so handsome that day.

I will post again later, but I just wanted to say hello and I have missed you all.
