I loved the Bud Light ad with the dog sitter. The best bit was the final scene where 5 or so big dogs are sitting around a table -- playing poker! Loved it!

I agree with you, Maire; the Doritos/cheesy fingers ad was 100% creepy! Ugh! The Tim Hutton (I didn't know it was him) Groupon ad was pathetic, too.

I didn't see them yesterday, so I'm watching this morning. Here's my report so far:

Yes, the prison escape was funny and original. And the Audi was cool! I'm surprised Kenny G participated, although they didn't overtly insult his music......

I heard the Dorito commercials were created from contest entries. I've only seen two so far. The finger-sucking, pants sniffing one was gross! I liked the pug knocking the guy over, though. He deserved it. :-)

I laughed at the Chevy ad featuring the old people. "Forty-two wild Italians"......LOL

The Pepsi Max ad with the jogger who gets hit with the soda can was rather harsh, but I laughed. (And to think I never liked the Three Stooges!)

I laughed at the Bud Light truck in the period movie, too.

I think I must be easily pleased.

I saw some of those this morning.

I liked the Darth Vader boy who's dad started the car with the remote. That's my favourite. The little boy was on the Today show, and he's adorable.

Justin Bieber and Ozzie got good ratings on our Cdn channels, but I didn't care for it. But I'm not a Bieber fan.

I liked the classic tv NFL ad.. that was great....

Okay, I did some work, and now I'm back to watching commercials.

I liked the Chevy truck as Lassie. Loved the line, "I didn't even know this town had a volcano!"

The Dorito commercial with the fish and Grandpa's ashes didn't do anything for me. Sorry, Kat!

The Kia Optima commercial (with everybody, including aliens and Aztecs--or were they Incas?--stealing the car) was original. And the car looked nice.

Joan Rivers as a hottie, and the entire rest of that commercial, fell flat for me.

Loved the Bud "Tiny Dancer" commercial. It's getting poor reviews on another thread here, though.

Everyone seems to love the Darth Vader commercial, and I did, too.

Have to be the "little" Darth Vader, especially learning
the personal problems of the little guy who played him.

And, I liked Ozzy and Bieber - especially the end,
where a disguised Bieber said, "...looks like a girl".

I missed a good Clydesdale one. They were on and off

Then with the mangled, half-time, pretty bad.

Tinydancers was dumb. (Love Elton John songs, guess I didn't GET IT.)

My favorite was a pregame ad. Living Social, had a Grizzly Adams type talking about how Living Social had changed his life, ended up in a dress and high heels, it was funny.

I liked the Coke one with the guards!

I loved the House MD ad that emulated the old Mean Joe Green super bowl ad where the little boy walks up and tells Joe Green he's "the best ever." Green tries to ignore the kid until he offers Joe a Coke. Joe takes it and walks away, leaving a dejected looking little boy standing there. Then Joe turns around and says "hey kid" and tosses the boy his towel, making the kid very happy.

In the House ad a little boy says "Dr. House, I want to tell you I think you're the best ever." and House says "me too." Then the boy offers him a churro and House makes a snide remark walks away. Then he turns and says "hey kid" and throws his cane at the boy, knocking him in the head. The kids yells "owwww." As House walks away he mumbles "I really thought you had that."

Dumbest - the home away with the thrown doll one.

Not a Beiber fan but I LOLed at the commercial.

Jodi, thanks for the backstory on the House commercial. I thought it was funny, but had forgotten about the Mean Joe Green connection.

The "Test Baby" ad was awful.

I liked the Chevy "Best first date ever" ad, although I don't know how I feel about drivers getting audible Facebook updates from their cars.

Big thumb down to the "Ferris Wheel" ad from Fox. Ugh.

I liked the Coke one with the guards, too. I usually like Coke commercials--even though I gave up soda about 40 years ago. :-)

Those Groupon commercials were discussed this afternoon on NPR's All Things Considered. Someone said Groupon had spent $3 million to lose customers.

It makes you wonder if they ever show those commercials to a test audience? I can't imagine the Groupon ad would have scored very high. Apparently they thought everyone would understand that it was a spoof on the many celebrities who appear on TV showing their support and concern for various social issues.
