Casey,,That German Coast Guard Vessel leaving Newfoundland may be on a turn around. Numerous counties including the U.S. conduct continual iceburg patrols across the North Atlantic. Now, while you caught a German Coast Guard Vessel in Newfoundland, how about the U.S. Coast Guard serving aboard a German Vessel at the USCG Academy, in New London, Connecticutt? Although the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter "Eagle" is officially the tall ship currently in commission and used as a training vessel by the USCG, she is in fact a German training ship that was captured by the Coast Guard during WWI. I have been aboard the Eagle and one thing that really caught my eye is many of the compartments or items on board still have the original name plates written in German.

They had to be fed a clear liquid to build nutrients, that I got from an animal rehabber. It's basically the liquid that is in iv's for humans. As they got a little older they were fed this solution mixed with powdered milk.....gradually increasing the milk. Then it was on to Pablum, then peanuts, walnuts, almonds, broccoli, carrots, brussels sprouts. They'd chortle when they saw me, and I was definitely their mother-figure. Poor ex....he picked one up, and Seymour bit him! So he was glad to let me continue being the caretaker. We got a bigger cage for them, and I put a branch inside, so they could learn to run along it and balance. When their tails get real bushy, it's time for them to be set free. I had them about 3-4 months. My cat didn't bother them at all, she sniffed them and let them be. These guys, would probably eat them!
