I didn't take this picture. Our friend, Tom, took it a couple days ago on his trip up to Yellowstone where he works for the Summer. He wrote this about his experience taking the picture I am posting. "Antelope Canyon is one of the slot canyons that you see photos of in Arizona Highways magazine. In most of those shots you see the sun rays focusing downward with those beautiful red sandstone walls in the back and foregrounds. What you don't see is Navajo tour guides in the background throwing spades full of sand in the air so the sun has something to reflect off of. It was very comical hearing them asking photographers if they had thrown enough sand and them responding, "Just throw one more shovel full.""

Thanks Ron,i knew they were some kind of echinopsis,but wasn't sure which.I also have them in yellow and pink.Mine are in bloom during the day,but the blooms don't last much more than 2 days. I got these and other cacti and plants several years ago when the old man across the street died,his daughter told me to go take what ever plants and gardening containers, gardenjunk and anything i wanted out of the yard.Wasn't that nice of her?? Oooh, my favorite garden spider! I haven't seen one of these here in a while. Maybe now that my son and DIL are putting in a vegetable garden.

Veta I've got a Canon 100mm macro (2.8). I think it's my favourite lens.

oldgardner... I can't recall the name of that flower at the moment but it is my very favorite! I use it as an accent around the edges of my hanging baskets and whiskey barrels and wash tubs full of flowers. I just love the dainty white flowers and it blooms profusely all summer for me.

Yes! Thank you... I have had a hard time finding it this year. Last year I got hanging baskets of it at Walmart and broke them up, there were 4 plants in each hanging basket... This year all I can find if and when I do are the quart size containers.. and they are kinda pricey..
