Here's a vid for comparison of my Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart running two sets of sheets (queen and twin) and several pillow covers on the designated Sheets cycle. Run it at full-screen and 2x speed to see the rollover more clearly. Wash period starts at 6 mins 55 secs. Sheets cycle on AquaSmart is a specific deep-fill level, although not as high as the machine above. It's for sure too much water for one twin set of sheets, almost too much for one queen set, good for both sets together. Agitation alternates through three patterns -- long slow rotation, long slightly faster, short faster.

helenbr, I am the grateful owner of a Maytag Bravos - not the current 800 series, but the 6700 model (and 6400 dryer, non-steam). Cynic and I will have to agree to disagree, because I really do think the Bravos is better than the Cabrio and Oasis. My opinion is based on three main sources: 1) people I know, both IRL and online who've owned them; 2) appliance repairmen; and 3) Consumer Reports and other online sources. Maytags are now built with commercial parts so perhaps that makes a difference. All I know is, I've read and heard many more complaints from Cabrio/Oasis owners than I have from Bravos owners. I've had my Bravos pair for almost a year, and I do recommend them. I studied my washer manual thoroughly before using it for the first time because I had always owned conventional TL's and wanted to be sure I used it properly. Thus far, I've had ZERO problems. I love the huge capacity, I love being able to wash virtually everything in my house w/o having to go to a laundromat, I love it that I can now wash 3-5 loads of laundry a week whereas I used to wash 10-12 loads per week (big family). I haven't had ANY problems with wrinkling/tangling, mold/mildew (which is common in FL washers), etc. It does seem to me that the Bravos is built more solidly than the FP washers, plus they look small to me. I bought my Bravos set at Home Depot. Have you checked websites online to save you a lot of driving? I checked Lowe's, Sears, HD, and other websites to compare prices, warranty info, delivery info, etc, before I decided where to buy. Another advantage of checking their websites is being able to read the reviews which were written by owners. HTH! :-)

Thanks for the info dadoes! Well, at least the particlar Bosch HE front loader I have won't properly wash my queen quilt or the cotton/polyester mattress pad I have. The issue is that neither gets completely wet on the inside- when I've taken out both, there are areas that are wet, others that are bone dry (the machine spins at 1,200 and gets clothing almost dry, but in this case, when I mean bone dry, there is no hint of wetness). I've tried a couple of times with both items, but have given up and now go to the laundry mat. In neither case is the drum completely full, loosely packed there is still space a the top of the drum. It also won't completely wash the pillows I've tried. that is a tricky one because when trying to wash one pillow, the machine does not spin all the water out properly because it isn't balanced, although the pillow does get wet, two pillows do not get thouroughly wet, but do spin okay. I should mention that the Bosch manual on this model is a joke and has virtually no information about properly loading the clothing, detergent levels, etc. I err on the side of caution and lightly layer in the clothing and leave space at the top of the drum. There are other reasons I don't like the machine- I find it particularly hard on my clothing- for example, several times after I've washed a brand new dark cotton shirt, the shirt comes out looking faded and worn around the collar and lower hem, something I would see in my old top loader only after several, several washes. I use Tide which does not contain an optical brightener and turn my clothing inside out. My husband's dress shirts only last about a year now, the collar takes a beating and the fabric pills. Stains are hard to remove. The top hem of my sheets have permanent creases which won't iron out- I had a sheet that was 12 years old that had this happen to it and I'm upset about that one because I rarely find sheets of that quality anymore. I won't go on, but I do want a new washer. Right now I'm leaning towards the Cabrio, especially if the mechanics are virtuatlly the same in both the Whirlpool and Maytag. Thanks! Barbara

A neighbor recently bought the 850 model. (I posted about this in another thread recently, and mistakenly quoted the model number as 750.) She really wanted the internal water heater, and raves about how much she loves the washer, for every cycle and type of laundry. She had owned two frontloaders and says this washer is much better. I bought a Maytag Bravos 6700 model about a year and a half ago -- a model with the internal water heater was not yet available. If it had been, I would have definitely bought it, as I love that feature on my dishwasher, and I could have lowered my home hot water temp to 120. I absolutely love my Bravos washer. It holds huge loads of laundry, including king-size comforters, and spins them so well, they dry in much less time than much-smaller loads in my former washer/dryer. Everything comes out very clean. I have not had a problem with jeans legs tangling, any more than I did when I washed jeans in my former washers w/agitators. There was definitely a learning curve in learning how to use the washer, since my former washers had all been traditional ones; I read the manual thoroughly a couple of times before I used it the first time. Once I had washed one load of each type, I knew what I was doing.
