Bosch 27-in wall oven: Temperature weirdness
Comments (11)The tech should be able to tell you there's nothing wrong with your oven. The electronics that they are building into ovens these days is very sophisticated. When a heater element is on and hot it stays hot for a while even after the power is turned off to the element. In other words the element doesn't get instantly cold the moment power is shut off. If an oven keeps the element turned on until the set temperature is achived the oven will actually continue to heat until the element cools enough to let the temperature stabilize. This will be higher than your set temp. These new ovens recognize the heat carry over of an element and shut it off before the set temperature is achived. The oven temp continues to rise then stabilizes more closely to the temperature you set it for. Customers who don't use a thermometer never notice a difference and just see the oven baking perfectly. Another thing to note is if you are using a Bi-Metal oven thermometer (the most common type)these are very slow to react to temperature change and tend to lag several minutes behind the actual temperature. For my service work I use a digital thermometer with thermocouple sensors. These have very fast reaction times and tend to read the actual temperature while the bi-metal thermometer is still 50º behind....See MoreMiele vs Bosch - Stackable - w3033 vs. was24450uc
Comments (6)We've had Siemens Ultrasense (Bosch Nexxt and Siemens Ultrasense are the same product) for two years and no service issues to report at all. I'm European and used to machines that can heat the water all the way up to 200F, which gives you really beautiful whites. That's my pet peeve here in the US, not being able to get that result except if I do a 5-hour soak in OxyClean. And the Siemens doesn't really do a proper soak, even though it does have that function. It will soak for a limited time and in less water than I'd like. When looking for a washer, I ask how high they can heat the water - the Siemens goes up to 170F for the sanitary programme. Obviously, the hotter the water the cleaner the clothes. So compare that to the Miele....See MoreBosch Vision 800 temperature question
Comments (1)Beware. Steam is just a gimmick. It doesn't really do anything. You are better off spraying your clothes with a light mist of water and putting them into a regular dryer....See MoreBosch Nexxt 700 Dryer hot temperatures
Comments (3)I'm hoping someone who didn't see my first post checks in. I'm still frustrated. I'm not thrilled with these units, but I spent too much money to consider replacing them when they're still "working." (There are too many other things I'd rather spend $2000 on.) The machines are not in constant use as it's only my husband and me. I save up my laundry so I have full loads of different settings, then do about 8 loads twice a month. Does anyone here have insight to the temperature problem, access to a service manual, or a link to one?...See Moreafruscione
