So far, found Cosmos where they make a Chicken Roulade, described as "twin bacon wrapped chicken breasts stuffed with asparagus & gruyere cheese, lightly sauteed and finished in the oven. Served with our house risotto and a sage & leak cream sauce" in case mom doesn't want seafood. Yea right. And Cobalt where they have a seafood pizza topped with "layers of bay shrimp, scallops, sweet blue crab, bells peppers, onions & asparagus on a saffron crust with three chesse alfredo sauce and fresh grated Parmesan." Yum. Can't wait. As you can see, I'm only through the Cs!

And if I wasn't in the mood to eat, I could head a few miles down the road and toss a mullet.
"And Perdido Key is the last island in the long chain.. the best beach bar in the Gulf with its myriad activities both inside and out. Jimmy Buffet has been here as have many other big names. The seafood is good and cheap, and the booze couldn't flow faster from a fire hose. While I was sitting on the deck, three people skydived down beside me, and the bartender had their favorite beer waiting for them. Now that's service! Another interesting and rather unusual activity is the annual mullet tossing competition; locals talk about how much fun it is to see how far you can throw a dead fish."

There are so many great seafood places along the Gulf Coast to eat that finding one isn't going to be hard ! But,if you get tired of seafood,I would highly recommend Lamberts ( Home of the throwed rolls ). It's on Hwy 59 and not far from Gulf Shores at all. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is even better. While you're in the Gulf Shores area be sure the check out the zoo. It was featured on Animal Planet after Hurricane Katrina as "The little zoo that could". It's really come a long way since Katrina and kids and grown-ups alike from around here love to go visit. Enjoy your visit to our beautiful coast !

Definitely hit Lambert's in Foley. It's just right up the highway from Gulf Shores. Be aware that the portions are HUGE and that will also come around with "pass-arounds" that are free!

I really appreciate the suggestion, but it didn't pan out. As we drove down there, I was telling my mom that I'd forgotten to write down the name of the place you two said. As we drove into Foley I pointed and said, "There, that's it! Lambert's!" She commented that there sure were a lot of cars for lunch time on a Monday. Then we never went back. You know how vacations are, we just stuck close to Orange Beach not moving more than required. The two places we went were good. Those listed above. We never went anywhere but the beach, but really enjoyed that. It was Ivan (Katrina went west, while Ivan went east) that took out their buildings. But it is rebuilt better than ever.
