Ariston Washer/Dryer combo - wrinkling problem
Comments (18)> Fagor makes good machines too, but they need 220 lines They work better, or at least much faster, than any other W/D combo sold in the US for that reason - the powerful 2500 watt internal heater quickly heats the water during the wash cycle for better cleaning, than speeds drying (and reduces wear on clothes) by shortening the dry cycle because it can draw 2500 watts rather than only 1000 watts typical for drying on a 110 volt combo dryer. But Fagor is in financial trouble (bankrupt, with two companies that may or may not buy their assets and honour their warranties) They've pulled their laundry machines from their US website, though several seem to remain in the pipeline. LG is the only manufacturer with a large US presense selling combo W/Ds in America, and the only one selling oversize machines of the size now common in new washers and dryers, that can wash and dry a load almost as big as an old top-load washer could wash. But both their large and small combos are hobbled by 120 volt/15 amp electricals, which can only draw 1/4 of the power used by a standard American dryer and are thus dog-slow....See MoreProblems with new front load washer not getting clothes clean
Comments (24)Yes, these washing machines are a Total JOKE! Your clothes smell because there is not an adequate amount of water. Clothing is NOT SUBMERGED in soapy water. Instead, they are splashed with a puddle of water that supposedly cleans them. It does not. Samsung, if you think it does, then tell me which scenario of cleaning would be preferred A or B? Scenario A) Your aging father who recently moved in your home is bedridden, incontinent & will sometimes have an accident. Today was a different story. Today he's in your bed while his is being replaced, he not only pees in your bed but he souls himself with a large amount of loose stool (diarrhea) all over your bed. So you toss the smelly, poopy & urine stained bedding in your Samsung so your blankets can be splashed with soapy water. with this method, NONE of your bedding is submerged in water, nor is it agitated. Instead it gently flops back and forth as it is similar to being tossed around in a shallow puddle. A water limit of 13 gallons will be used and reused to get them "clean." Scenario B) Everything above is identical but instead of using your Samsung, you use a MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE ( about $800 less ) top loader. This machine will COMPLETELY SUBMERGE your poopy soiled linens in plenty of hot soapy water while it rapidly oscillates and strongly agitates the laundry as soapy water is forced through the fibers repeatedly. Finally, as it's draining soiled water it fills with clean water then partially drains and filling is repeated until clothes are submerged in fresh clean water. So now I ask you this: Which of the 2 above loads do you choose to put back on your bed? Because I can assure you, if you tested both previously soiled sheets upon removing each from the washer, that the first one would test positive for fecal matter. I am lucky enough to have purchased a latest model, regularly priced at $1400 Samsung front loader For $300 used. I'm also lucky my bf can build/modify just about anything and hacked to water level and also installed a hose with hot or cold water right next to it so I can fill it with the amount of water necessary to clean clothes, Not just wipe them down. Because that's pretty much what they do, lightly pat off the dirt. That does not clean the fabric that is why your "clean" laundry stinks. These machines are unacceptable in my book! If you have one of these front loaders, try this: take a laundered item and get a clear bucket, bowl, tub, sink, anything which will show the water and wash your item by hand and see what comes out of it. Water will be tan to brown. Rip-off!...See MoreDo TL HE Washers Wrinkle Clothes More than FL HE Washers?
Comments (22)My Maytag Bravos washer has a Wrinkle Control cycle which I use for the great majority of our nicer office and church clothes. I use the Delicates cycle for more delicate fabrics and the Hand Wash cycle for the most delicate fabrics and sweaters. I use the Medium spin with the Wrinkle Control cycle and the Slow spin with the Delicates and Hand Wash cycle. When I wash towels and jeans/T-shirts, I use the normal wash cycles and fast spin. I haven't yet had ANY problem with wrinkling OR tangling. I have found the main way to prevent wrinkles in jeans is not to overload the machine (which is emphasized in the manual). My washer does not have an agitator; it has an impeller. The clothes come out much cleaner than they did in my former conventional TL's....See MoreHelp please! Why is my new $$$ SQ Washer/Dryer pilling new clothing?
Comments (6)I've had a new SQ TL set for about 1 month and love it. I do not have soft water, but I did for many years in my previous home. Do you have a water conditioner? I ask, because when ours needed attention, it affected rinsing soap/detergent out of everything. I would suggest that you only wash with 1 HE detergent, skip all the other products, use the appropriate water temp and cycle for the sorted clothes and detergent - don't wash jeans with nice delicate items for instance - and use the correct level of water. I would do a second rinse since you have soft water. I love the small and medium levels. I only use delicate cycle for nice blouses, tanks, etc. and usually a small load. The delicate cycle is too gentle to get your everyday clothes clean. All that said, please use the dryer - no dryer sheets - and save your time and sanity, since the dryer isn't the source of the problem. I really like the nearly dry cycle choice for alot of my clothing. Using Downey and dryer sheets is adding a layer of 'stuff' on your clothes you don't need - just my personal opinion....See Moreb_lizzie
