Tibbrix, I've taken a look and it appears that they only come in clear glass. Beverly, thanks again for the suggestion and the mock-up:) Great idea with the PB fixtures, but a little heavier than I'd prefer. It is the Toscana table ( with the x base)that we've been considering:)! We'd been waiting for the floors to be refinished and now they are, we can move on again to looking at tables. Don't mind so much the $ on a table, but 6 new chairs is pushing the budget right now. Might try to get to some lighting stores over the next week and have another peek. On a mission only because we have 2 other new fixtures for entrance and bedroom and hoped to deal with kitchen so we'd only need to have electrian come back one more time. Martha, Do not be misadvised. You have G bulbs in your fixture and those are always usually bright. There is nothing wrong with the fixture you selected, it's the bulbs & they should be on a dimmer. Experiment with other bulbs. Consider using long skinny bulbs for the fixture. The fixture is too small for the living room. Replace your ceiling light with ceiling fan and lower the art over the sofa to about 6" above the back of the sofa. You require a fan that hugs the ceiling. Doesn't have to have a light, but should be white to blend into the ceiling.

I think they should work well together. They're both more modern in style, and the shiny clear glass works with the shiny metal of the ceiling fan. I tend to like the look of mixed metals in a room or in a larger open-plan space. It makes a home look much more thoughtfully assembled, as if it had been collected over time, rather than as if everything came from the same place at the same time in a big box (or from a big box lol) : ) . Much like the current fashion of not having a matching bedroom furniture suite.

Thanks, everyone! Copper would definitely be a great complement to the oil rubbed bronze, but unfortunately, it's not one of our "builder grade" options. I also love polished nickel - it has a warmer tone that would probably complement ORB better, but it's pricier and more difficult to coordinate with our options throughout the home. I do agree that black and oil rubbed bronze can work together - in fact, our front door is a black metal double door with oil rubbed bronze edging. I do have some brushed gold decor items/accents that I will incorporate (i.e. an etagere, end tables, etc.), but I think we are still limited to some combination of ORB/brushed nickel or ORB/chrome for our kitchen faucet, cabinet hardware, and lighting. So which of those is better? Brushed nickel or chrome?
