We went to some friends for the SB. She looked awesome but everyone said the same thing.... she wasn't singing just lipping it! I had not thought of that until I played closer attention to it. If she was, she did a good job.

What a voice!

Her voice always moves me and I thought I noticed 'something' in the last two words..maybe previously recorded. Nonetheless, it was her beautiful/passionate voice that moved me to tears.

They want them to pre-record it.

It was on the radio this morning that they had wanted Bruce Springsteen to "prerecord" the vocals for his show, but he refused.

I thought she was actually singing to pre-recorded music. The music was coming in thru the earphone. Her version was wonderful.

I stepped out to the bathroom and missed her performance so thanks for the link. Wow, how incredible. She has an amazing voice even if it was recorded. I did happen to hear them say that this is her first performance since her family was murdered. (((Jennifer!!)))

Only about three months since that unimaginable tragedy. She sang beautifully and I was happy to see her. Did you notice how many others there were getting teary-eyed?

I dunno........... if she did lip sync she did a wonderful job. But I'll bet she still sang, but the mike was turned off. Too much passion went into that song. And yeah, even I got teary eyed.......

When Kathie Lee Gifford sang the anthem at Super Bowl XXIX, in 1995, she got SKEWERED for lip-synching it, even though her rendition of it was absolutely breath-taking. She got a ton of flak even though it had always been pre-recorded, because the feedback in the stadiums is terrible and they can't hear the music correctly to sing to it, or something like that.

I wish I could find a video or even just a recording of KLG singing the anthem, I had it on video but it got recorded over. It gave me goose-bumps.

I think last night's version was excellent, too.

We got together at our church...they played the game on a big screen. really big. Tons of food...

I didn't watch the game...I took crafts for the women who wanted to do something other than watch football..

But I did watch her sing. Everyone there stood with hands over hearts as she sang.

I've never heard much follow up about the murders..did they ever find out who and for what reason they were done?

I don't know that she was lip-syncing. If she did she is really good at it. Her breaths were right on the mark. Faith Hill didn't lip-sync earlier and Bruce Springsteen didn't and both sounded really good. I think it's possible she was live. Although she DID win an Oscar for lip-syncing in Dreamgirls. Who knows, it was still really beautiful.

I just watched it. Incredible. I've always liked Jennifer Hudson. She's a class person with incredible talent. I was somewhat watching American Idol when she was on, and when she got booted, she left with true class. But I knew she'd be fine. Let's face it, winning AI is not a great thing for most of them. Fat Reuben? Screaming Fantasia Barrieiro? The grey haired old man? Where are they now? Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken, well, a lot of the runner-ups are doing FAR better than the "winners"

I'm very happy for Jennifer Hudson. I wish her nothing but the best. She's actually one person I would like to meet. I think she's very interesting.

Fantasia is doing AWESOME work! She's the lead in The Colour Purple on Broadway. Her albums have sold really well. She was on Oprah not too long ago talking about her career. I haven't seen hide nor hair of Rueben, the grey haired guy (I used to know his name........ now you've gone and made me forget it! LOL). Clay Aiken was a runner up and did better than Rueban did. Nobody is doing better than Carrie Underwood, I LOVE her! Well, I really like her... hehehee And David Cook is great too. I bought his CD the day it came out on iTunes.

Taylor Hicks is only about 30. Hardley old.

Missed the "live" version but saw it on the news. I wasn't looking for it, but it struck me that it did look staged. Maybe they taped it in case she couldn't get through it live because of the situation. Either way, it was a wonderful rendition. So proud of her!!
