Thanks (and an update)

I just wanted to thank everyone again for your support, your friendship and your prayers during the last couple of weeks, expecially the last week during my hard times.

I had one final blood test yesterday and my beta HCG level was at only 4, which was great. It dropped down to a normal level really quickly. I was hoping for that. Physically, I still feel a little "off" but I think it's just my body adjusting.

I saw my doctor yesterday and we have an option of doing a new IVF cycle next month, or we'd have to wait until July (due to my doctors full schedule). Most likely we'll do it next month. I have an ultrasound Monday to make sure things look ok and at that time, she'll decide if a uterine fibroid I have needs to be removed or not. If it does, we'll have to wait until July. If things look good and we decide to proceed, I'll start some initial medications right away and as we get closer to March, I'll probably start injections. An egg retrieval would be sometime the week of March 23.

I'll let you all know what we decide. Physically, I'm not looking forward to it, but mentally, I'm ready to move on.

On a different note, I can certainly feel the love around my house. Grant is in a very clingy mommy stage. I cannot even leave the room without him freaking out completely...unless he's with my mom. In that case, he could care less if I leave. Anyone else, he freaks and just wants to hang on to me. Its very sweet but also exhausting.

Actually, Butterfly weed doesn't really "burst" into bloom. It opens more slowly, and mine blooms for weeks, so I don't think you'll miss the blooms!

Just remember....baked potatoes will hold, grilled meat won't. you can wrap a done potatoe in a terry towel and it'll stay hot for 20 minutes or so, or leave in a 200 oven and it will stay for easily 390 minutes. Linda C

Good luck, Steph! Sounds like things are about to start moving along for you. I remember when my nephew was clingy like that, poor Nelly couldn't even go the bathroom without Errol. She was exhausted by it, too. Take care and thank goodness for your Mom!

I remember Drew a year and a half ago or so. DD said she literally had to look behind her before taking a step back cause he'd be there and she'd trip over him. Same thing Flamey said. Can't even go to the bathroom alone! LOL

I just have to say ... your attitude through all of this is so very refreshing, Steph. There's no "poor me," or "why me" coming from you. Just true appreciation for medical miracles, disappointment when things don't work, and optimism for the future.

My prayers continue to be with you. We know it works, Grant is the shining proof!

Steph, I don't post often, but I wanted you to know that I have been following you through your posts. I think you are a true inspiration to all of us. We could all learn from your upbeat attitude.

I will be keeping you in my positive thoughts and pray that everything works out the way you and Brent want it to.

Thanks everyone.

I will say that I have definitely had my share of "why me" times. None of this has been easy and I do wonder why it can't be so easy but I think I tend to get more frustrated with the process than I do upset so the frustration just makes me want to move on to the next step, which hopefully will be positive.

Hoping for the best for you whenever you get to start again. Continued good thoughts are here for you! I know that clingy stage...I have 2 going through it right now and it is exhausting, your right about that!
