review of samsung washer dryer dv457evgsgr/wf457argswr
Comments (1)You should put this post into the Laundry section. Personally, I wouldn't use those quick-connects. I've had them pop off unexpectedly under pressure. Also, Teflon shouldn't be required since these connections all have rubber washers (no pun intended) in them. The guys who delivered my LG used a web strap (a pair) to lift the washer into position. The web strap resembled a tow strap for a car....See MoreSamsung 338 Owners
Comments (20)Sorry Makeitsew there is no quick wash or prewash. As you toggle thru the various categories you will be able to see what spin, water, soil level each cycle will allow. You could do the spin and rinse, with extra rinse (36 min.) for a quick wash of a couple items. Prewash could be accomplished by using a rinse and low speed spin. I never use the prewash on my old unit, so it wasn't a factor in my purchasing decision. Would be nice to have a quick wash. However, most quick wash features are for a few clothes and I would be interested in knowing the actual minutes listed for that cycle. Below are listings for time. Some cycles will only allow certain spin speeds and water selections. If you use too much soap that would make the times longer. I know people complain of balance. But this isn't my first FL and I've always washed one item and never had any problems. Both in the old FL and the new. Maybe I've just been lucky. Delicate cycle with light soil, low spin, is 38 minutes. Perm. press light soil, med. spin, is 44 minutes. Normal with light soil, any spin speed, any water is 46 minutes. If the total run of your dryer vent(from behind the dryer extending thru the walls to the outside) is only three feet, then the dryer times will be fast. Mine basically exits right outside the wall, so I just have to watch for lint build-up on the animal guard on the outside. You will want to use the options on your dryer. Look in the manual, it shows how much cool time within each cycle. Use the perm. press cycle when appropriate. I also use the wrinkle guard button on the perm. press. Otherwise you'll end up with wrinkled clothes. You can go to Samsungs website and download the manual if you want to look at the display board. The manual that comes with the unit isn't too descriptive. However, the controls are pretty self explanatory. You can just flip the dial to turn on the unit. You don't have to power up the unit before selecting....See MoreIs stacking Samsung Dryer DV337 on Samsung Washer WF337 recommend
Comments (10)Amd111~ For what it's worth, I have a Maytag Epic set. They are stackable also & did require a kit... Just remember if you have to take the feet off the dryer to put them in a safe place!... Anyway, I originally had mine stacked & it didn't seem to cause any problems; no extra noise, vibration, etc... Also, we live in a mobile home, and there was no problem w/ the weight at all, I was also paranoid about this to begin with. Just recently, I unstacked mine to create hanging space in my laundry room, remember the "tip" above? I lost 1 of my dryer feet & DH had to rig up boards of the perfect height to go under my dryer so it was the same height as my washer! About the venting situation... Why couldn't you buy a longer dryer vent, possibly the expandable periscope vents, and maybe even a longer dryer cord if necessary to put the machines like they're supposed to be? I had to rearrange my laundry room from the way it's supposed to be set up b/c of the depth of my machines, I just bought a longer dryer cord, a periscope vent (these also let you push the dryer further back), and longer washer hoses... All of this stuff is readily available online. Anyway, that's just a thought, good luck! Mc_Hudd...See MoreGE Profile dryer owners-please help
Comments (11)I know this is late in the discussion, but I'm going to jump up and down wildly and say US TOO !!!!! We have the same dryer, have the same issue with exceedingly long dry times (the clothes actually dry much more quickly than the stated time, they just get fried when it runs so long.) GE came out twice to service our dryer and insists that it's "fine" now, but it's the same old problem. If we set a load to dry using timed dry, it runs around 40 minutes for a medium-sized load to dry. If the same load is dried using the sensors, it can take 2+ hours. I'm thinking it's a fault with the design of the sensors and their location. If anyone has any more information about this, please, please share. We are sooooo disappointed with this dryer, and had high hopes for it when we bought it about 5 months ago....See Moredadoes
