Yes, I think they look too skimpy. Here's a few thing to try. How about only having one ring past the bracket? This will pull more fabric over the window. The rods could also be made shorter so the drapes didn't sit so far off the window, making the fabric appear to cover more of the window. I would try these before I took our pleats that I made. They are a PIA! : )

You could always try making the pleats with only two per pleat. Before I did that I would try hanging them from the rings without pleats and see if that makes them appear more full. That may not be the look you are going for though.

Hopefully with some tweaking you can the look you were after. HTH

I agree that the curtain rods look a little too wide. Can they be shortened a little?

I agree with the other suggestions re: the rod and moving the second ring over. But whenever there is only one panel on the window, it tends to look "slighted" until you get used to the look. I'm wondering if you need the tie back? No matter how much fabric is over the window, if you have to pull it back over the tie back, it's going to look thin. I would probably let them hang straight -- but then that's my preference and all of my curtain panels just hang.

Fabric is really pretty. I with rnmomof 2. I would try the easy suggestions and tweak before I took out pleats.

If you have both drapes and let them hang straight I don't think you need to do anything else. Beautiful material and I really envy your skill.

I think when you move that one end ring to the inside of the bracket and put them both up you might be ok. I agree with annie, I'd like to see it. The fabric looks great!

Looks gorgeous with both panels~IMO, being too skimpy can make or break a window treatment. Sometimes it's worth it to spend a little more~in the long run, you won't regret it. ;o)

I think the drapes look wonderful in the last picture you posted with them hanging straight on either side of the window. Although I do like tiebacks, I think that's the way they look best. You did a beautiful job on them, how I wish I could sew!

I like the way they look hanging straight as in the last picture. However, if possible, I would shorten the rod a little. There's a little more rod beyond curtain than I like to see. You've done a great job keeping up with our suggestions and getting back with pictures! I think there is a rule of thumb for that but I don't know what it is, probably about 3".

my3babypeaches- At least you have half the battle won! I love your choice in fabric! It looks beautiful! I am no expert on window treatments, but I have this pic saved in my files & thought your window treatments would look good like this, too.

Are you going to actually close them? If not, I think the 2 panels look fine now. But if you have your heart set on tying them back I understand and I'd make them fuller. It's a shame to do all that gorgeous work and still not be happy with them. I don't know about the 2 pleat vs 3 pleat though, I'm no seamstress.

I'm about to make curtains so I'm interested in learning from this thread. I think betteratthelake has a good suggestion. Try hanging one panel on each window and then closing the top half, toward each other like her picture shows.
