#2 gets my vote. You have the large curved arms of the sofa already. I like the chair without the arms. Seems to balance with the couch plus it opens up the window more. I love your room either way btw.

I like photo #1. Can't really pinpoint why...maybe it's the similarity of the rounded arms.

I like #1 because #2 looks too close to the color of the couch. The darkness of #1 seems to blend with the dark table and picture frames.

I vote for #2. I like the clean lines and how it opens up the window area.

I like both pictures. Both chairs look nice with the sofa. If you need more light, then #2 is the way to go. If you do not need more light, then which ever chair is more comfortable I would go with since both to me look equally nice.

I agree with the person who said number two is more appealing visually, but one looks more comfortable. In two, i love the combination of the chair and table in front of that gorgeous window. How comfortable is two to sit in?

I like #2. I think it adds a lighter feel, by the window, and is in keeping with the more feminine feel of the room. I agree that I would pull it into the window space a bit more. A floor lamp there could be a nice addition, nothing too bulky, but it would add a bit of height to the grouping. Very pretty!

Well, the dark leather is more comfy. My husband does not like the littler chair. I agree it is very pretty. I am too confused now!

Truth be told we hang out in that space more than any other in the house so it is very important that chair be comfy. Knowing this - what do you all say??

Yay! #1, #1, #1! I love the look of your room, which is what I'm trying to achieve in my living room - nice, but still a place you can feel comfortable. Can I ask where you got your sofa and chair?

My vote is Number 2. I don't analyze why, I go on instinct. Number 2 just is more pleasing to my eye. If function trumps form (which it does for me most of the time, LOL!) I'd go for Number 1.

Number 2. And may I suggest a different arrangement for the photos above your sofa? They're just a little off, I think. I've posted a link below that can be a big help. Take a look at fig.16.

I understand why the leather chair might be more comfy, and it makes sense to have that if you use that room so much. I am just wondering, since we can't really see the whole room, if there is space for BOTH chairs in there? The armless chair is such a nice addition to the look.

Ladynimue mentioned the pix over the couch. I am not sure the arrangment is a problem, but they feel like they are spread apart too far - I would like to see them closer together.

I much prefer #2, even though I am chiming in late.

I feel so much better to be getting lots of #1 votes! We have it there with the little table (did not have it there before) but it fits very nicely.

I know everyone always tells me on this site about my art and I have moved it in. I have experimented endlessly and I love it the way it is now. Thanks for the suggestions though!!!
