I vote for buttermilk, I prefer the contrast. Plus I've always liked buttermilk caesarstone, we considered it for our counters as well.

I vote buttermilk as well. Both are pretty, but the buttermilk will brighten up the kitchen.

[Note: I know nothing about Caeserstone so I can't relate to anything but the photos.] There's a very different feel with the yellow. Do you want that warm color that is closer in value to the wood or are you looking for the quiet sophistication and counterpoint of the gray? From here it doesn't look too dark, but can't tell what your floor is like--is it lighter than the counter? I have unstained oak cabinets and have chosen a countertop that is roughly same darkness tones as the gray you show. I am happy with the result. But my floor is relatively light and there are lots of windows.

Sorry, that floor is NOT TILED. It is being tiled as we speak, with a travertine-like porcelain.

I am not thrilled with either counter with your cab & floor combo. The gray has no basis for being there and the buttermilk seems too much like the floor.

Are there any other colors that look nice to you? I think I have heard that there is a sage kind of color that people rave about....

If forced to pick between the 2, I'd do the buttermilk but only if you went in a different direction with paint and/or bs.

I agree with dianalo about both counter choices not quite fitting. I have very similar colors in my kitchen - shaker maple cabs with a red tint and a laminate floor that looks very similar to your porcelain tile. I chose Caesarstone's chocolate truffle, and it works beautifully together.

I agree - A darker color works better. The gray would do nothing for those cabinets!

Hi, I'd look at Caesarstone Blizzard. It's more toward white which I think would provide a great contrast with your cabinets. I'm don't think your other choices are great with your cabinets.

Organic white. One of the blacks could be more jazzy, but I'm likin' homey looks these days. Organic white a homey, easy to live with white.

It's ok to go monochrome if you like it - I'd feel like the lighter one is one too many goldy tones for me. Plus, at that point, what would you do for backsplash? Even more travertine?

Chocolate truffle doesn't seem quite right with what looks like red tones from the cabinets, but possibly I'm too matchy. Also, I think caeserstone's strength is in the sandstone, limestone, travertine like shades.

I don't mind the gray ones, be thinking more rosemary than dusty stones, but that's a quibble. Would look better in my eyes if there were some tie to the intended wall colors or backsplash.

My cabinets are oak, but in a similar tone to your cabinets. We used Zodiaq papyrus, which is a slightly taupish off-white. Our floors are a very dark brown.

My original choice for counters was caesarstone buttermilk, but then changed to something darker (chroma canyon). But then went I went to choose a backsplash i realized I couldn't find anything I liked with the Canyon color. So now, after veering away from the Buttermilk for about 6 months (while house was being built) I took another look at Buttermilk and found the perfect backsplash that I love to go with it. So, the point of my story is that maybe you should make the backsplash and counter selections together and that will make the choice of counter easier.

I kept thinking about my choices "well, that looks okay, that would work". But then when I found the winning combo it was more like where you gasp and say "I love it, its so beautiful, its perfect!". So, I think looking at cabinet/counter/backsplash together really helps.

I plan to use a multi-color (very muted) slate tile for the backsplash. No it's not fire and ice but the colors a little similar, without the glassy stuff.

Thank you for the opinions. I don't think buttermilk is really yellow, if you have seen it in person, it basically looks off white from a distance. The organic white has exact same pattern (nice looking irregular dots) but is completely white. I think it would be nice too but I'm a little scared about how dramatic (and how white) it is.

I cannot stand anything that even looks remotely like granite. That is totally a personal thing, because all the friends/relatives I know in this Area have granite, with the same look. Red, Green, Black, whatever, but it's all same shiny granite look. Therefore anything from Caesarstone that has enough specks in it I go oh no.

It does seem like most people don't care about the gray, man.

I'm a long-time lurker chiming in to say that I have very similar cabinets and Blizzard Caesarstone. I do like the combination, but I also have white subway tiles for a backsplash and fir floors. (The floors ended up being very similar to the cabinets, but I don't mind at all.)

Organic white is a bit brighter than the Blizzard, but it does have the subtle pattern you like. Misty Carrera is more muted than the Organic White and might pull everything together all right. (Though the floor makes it difficult. Hm. Maybe there's a dark, non-speckled brown that would work?)

Thank you, I also just went out in the blazing sun to look @ some local places, I do believe my cabs are so red/dark that a light countertop would definitely lighten it up.

I think the Champagne Limestone might go very nicely with your cabs & floor and still be light enough. Otherwise, I would get samples of the Organic White & Blizzard and bring them home to compare with your cabs & floor. BTW, I love your cabs!! Would you mind telling me what brand, wood, & stain they are? TIA!

Neither! If you must do one, the Buttermilk is better. However, it does not have the "WOW" factor that you should have after the money spent on a kitchen remodel. Just my two cents. :o)

Honestly, I think the Buttermilk is a little too yellow for your honey colored cabinets. It's also the same type of pattern as your floor tile. I would use the Caesarstone Chocolate Truffle as it will tie your cabinets together with the floor, having both the rich honey tones and the lighter beige tones of your floor tiles. I think it's a better fit and adds a bit more pattern and punch.

WOW factor...really don't know, at first I just wanted some decent cabinets, then one thing led to next, and it's a full kitchen remodel...man

I can see why people are saying chocolate truffle, but for me it's just too granite looking. Hopefully, with handles and knobs in I can try to pull of a semi-contemporary look...

If you are trying for contemporary, then I envision much lighter or much darker counters with your floor and cabs. A medium tone will not have the impact to be contemporary.

I went in the kitchen to meditate (seriously) this morning. Perhaps I can go with organic white.

After debating countertop choices for months myself, I have found that I really like contrast b/c countertops and cabinets, therefore, my choice would be the organic white.

But, if that's too white for you, what about eggshell?

Ooh I like that Organic White! I definitely agree that (to me) the Buttermilk is too yellow/warm. (I really prefer a little contrast in kitchen.) Personally, I also still like the Dusty Stones, though if you feel it would bee too dark then it probably isn't going to work for you.

thank you everyone. I ordered the organic white. I think bottom line is it's really to each his/her own...repeat to myself "THIS TOO SHALL PASS" and "you've still got beautiful kids, a house to live in, a husband worth keeping, etc...."
I think I still want a slate backsplash. I can't get over how much I love slate tiles. Will continue my meditation.

I like blizzard. That is what we are going with with similar cabs. will show more contrast than buttermilk.
