The plan is almost done - but need in cabinet Halogen suggestions

With all of your help, our remodel kitchen plan is almost complete. It is a standard U-shape. Equally spaced apart at 12:00, 4:00 and 8:00 are three cabinets, each with glass doors which will contain two halogen puck lights each.

My plan is for low-voltage, direct wire. Where I need help is with picking a quality brand of lamp and transformer. And I need suggestions on:

Where do the transformers end up, in the wall, or above/below the cabinets connected behind the drywall. With the cabinets being approximately 10 feet apart from each other in a triangle, can I get away with only one transformer to power all six lights (max 20w each)?

What brands are good? I have a tight budget, but the one place I will go over is in electronics/lighting, as it makes or breaks things, and the transformer quality concerns me the most. It would be great if it was small and easily invisible. What else do I need to know?

thanks
