Should an exposed brick wall be the color scheme of the room?

Should an exposed brick wall be the color scheme of the room or should it be thought of more as "art" in the room?

Here is what I have: an exposed brick wall in my bathroom remodel (sorry I know this is kitchens but you all give such great advice!). These are some of the things I've purchased: a bronze footed clawfoot tub, a contemporary vessel sink and base, a mercury glass light fixture (the rest of the lights will be recessed). As you can see, I buy what I like, not necessarily what matches.

So I'm thinking porcelain 12 x 24 gray tile that looks like slate for the floor and carerra marble for the wall behind the tub and also in the shower. I want pebble tile on the floor of the shower.
