In my humble opinion, bricks are like wood, or blue jeans. They are their own thing and you don't have to match the rest of the colors to them.

I don't think it has to influence the color scheme, no.

But it is a separate material of the brick/stone/tile category, and right now I think you have too many different materials in that one category
1)brick
2)porcelain slate
3)carrara marble
4) pebble

And these are in addition to the other materials/finishes in the room.

I think one of the separate materials should be eliminated or you are going to head into sensory overload. There is nothing wrong with any of your choices, but maybe some editing is in order.

The bricks seem 'warm' and the other materials seem 'cool'. I think I would stay with warm colors to flatter the brick, whether you decide to match the brick or set it off. Hope that helps :)

I agree to simplify the design more. That brick isn't located anywhere behind the toilet is it?

Agree with lavendar lass. While a brick wall might be art or a neutral element, warm colors to flatter the brick is a good idea.

Without seeing the whole, I don't think your material selections blend with the brick. They are too bright. Cool, modern and edgy, imo. While you are choosing natural materials, warmer colors would work better, I think.

I like the way your slate-look tile pulls from the darkest flashing of the brick.

I think grey marble looks really nice with exposed reddish brick. Do you have a pulled out photo of more of your brick?

I agree with lav-lass. I like the slate with the brick, but not the other stuff. To me, a big part of the appeal of brick is its warmth.

First of all, have to say I love used brick! Grew up in a mid '50s ranch neighborhood full of it, and have lived in another early '50s ranch for the past 30 years with lots of brick inside and out. I must agree with others, the "slate" goes, but the others not so much....something just not right with the mix

If you like marble, maybe look at Calcatta with more of the warm veins, or Crema Marfil with it's more swirled latte tones. In porcelain, so you don't deal with the ongoing maintenance issues of marble. Like Crossville's Crema Marfil porcelain that we used in our Xylem bath vignette.

Personally, I'd do a rustic wood top and vanity, like a wirebrushed oak with about 7 coats of a marine varnish on top for that modern vessel sink. Or a leathered black granite to echo the slate floors. And something creamy and neutral and very plain for everything else. All in the same color.

I love the brick. I think the pebble is what's throwing me off.

Where did you find the flooring? I love it!!

Here is a bigger picture of the brick. It's a small wall right when you walk in the room - only about 4.5 feet wide. From the shower area, you don't even see the brick.

How would tavas travertine be? Large tiles for the floor? Then I get confused with the shower - I should probably keep it travertine or whatever I'm using right - to avoid it looking busy?

Beautiful brick! Especially with the black in there, Soapstone would look great...
