No one seems to ant toadd to this after 8 weeks.

Ohhhh Kellyeng! I'm so sorry. You know, your build is taking as long as mine. Hummm, does your GC have brown hair and seem to vanish for a week at a time??? I wondered about the cabinets when they were installed but GC said no they go in first. I guess this all just comes down to how each GC was trained. Or, tries to save $$$ perhaps? But in that note, GC's reasoning was he didn't want the scaffolding, the wood stove installers or any other of the subs to damage the floor. I do worry about the granite not getting in and our tile guy wanting to leave for 2 months. I know he's waiting, waiting, waiting....

What a pain in the patoot! I agree, some of the vehicles are so high...of course on the other end of the spectrum we have our mini cooper. I just know that one day I will need a wench to pull me out. I guess I had not noticed how high the vans sit. I have a friend that carries a little step stool to get in and out of her SUV. We have been looking for a truck to pull a fifth wheel, one thing we insist on is a 4 door so we have plenty of room to get the cat kennel in and out. One of the guys keeps sending me 2 doors with a back seat. The height of them is tremendous, I may be getting a step stool!

First of all i'm sorry for the loss of your son!!! You have done the best thing for yourself and dh and i'm sure your son is smiling down and giving you an" atta girl,"and thumbs up. It's hard enough having someone live with you and then when they don't follow the rules~~~~~~~~~well it's just hard. We did this a couple of times with our gd,and her boyfriend, and first one kid, then a few years later them and 2 kids. She was fine for the most part, but her bf was a whole different can of worms, thought and still thinks the world owes him everything, and he doesn't have to work.In the 10 years they were together,he probably didn't work 6 mos in all that time. Finally this year dgd saw the light and dumped his sorry a** to the curb.Thank You JESUS.She and the kids are living with his mom and stepdad, and they have a restraining order against him.She will start school this month for dental assistant. The kids are both in school full time, and dgd said she is truly happier than she has been for the past 10 years. Everyone tried to get her to see the light all these years, but I guess she had to see what we all saw for herself. Last time they were here and we put them out,i gave them, mainly him until sunset that day,and while they were packing dh and I went to lowes and got new locks for all the doors, came home and put them on.He was gone by sunset that night,we had told her that she and the kids could stay, but she decided "she loved him too much, and the kids needed him",for what I don't know. We're so glad that she finally saw the light as are his parents, and family. I'm so glad you took your house and your life back and I wish you nothing but love, joy and peace as you move forward. kathi
