1 gallbladder+2 kidney stone+1UTI+1 large cyst= 2 surgeries

I hadn't felt good the last 3 days and I thought that it was a touch of the flu. If finally hit me around 8 when I sat down t feed Hudson hat it wasn't the flu if the pain was around my ribs. I have had gallbladder problems for 5 months since I was pregnant and have had a cold and Peyton is having surgery on a cyst on her neck on Friday and Hudson i just now getting over croup So I decided to put it off to the middle of January. Well I was in tons of pain even on lortab and Darvacet. So the did blood work up and found out my potassium level were dangerously low which explains why I have been so stumbly. That I do have the flu which brought out all my problems. They did a CT scan and found 2 kidney stones, one of which I passd ghs morning and the other one is stil there givng me problems, my gall bladder still is full of small stones and sludge. Plus an UTI and with the antibiotics I cant breat feed Hudson which is a bummer. So Hopefully they cn tke it out the easy way or it will be a 4-6 inch incession.

So say a prayer for me and think of our family at this tme of stress.

There is a company that makes a product called E T Air Ride. www.ztpuffer.com You mount this air ride system on your mower then mount your current seat on top of it. If you have a seat that slides you can still slide your seat. It raises your seat a few inches so you need to build some wood platform to support your body, no big deal. You hook the power side to the ignition switch so it shuts off when you shut mower off. John Deere dealer was helping me get the correct wire. I'm looking forward to using it as my tailbone is sore. Age has nothing to do with it. Lawnmower manufacturers don't want to spend the extra money to build this into their mowers.

I've been with the same doc for almost 18 years and I would hate to have to switch to another. If I call last minute, either he squeezes me in, or I see his partner who is equally great. I worked for a multi doc practice for a few years and I was disgusted at some of what I saw. It was all about the money with them. None of these docs would "go the extra mile" for the patients. There was no come into my office today, I'll see you tomorrow, etc. This company had a contract with a walk in clinic down the street and the knee jerk reaction of all the receptionists and doctors was " go to the clinic." This clinic was very busy and between the emergencies was alot of primary care things...med refills that could have been done over the phone, routine bloodwork,blood pressure checks, etc. One doc actually had the gall to send a patient that was in his office to the clinic to be evaluated for abdominal pain! His excuse...I'm too busy today to order the bloodwork and xrays! Then if a patient was severe enough that they had to go to the ER, the pcp would call and yell at the clinic docs because they would have to round on the patient at the local hospital! It was a real eye opener. Alot of the patients would say that they felt the clinic docs were their pcps. In 18 years, my doc had given me 1 outside referral and that was for surgery. Sorry for the rant but I was happy to get out of that job and am forever grateful to my doc for the wonderful job that he does.

The problem with a LOT of medical tests (even legitimate ones in a hospital setting) are that the results are questionable, and then you have to go for more, and MORE EXPENSIVE tests. Just one example--last summer, I had a kidney stone attack that sent me to the ER in great pain. That situation had to be addressed, and I ended up having a bunch more tests and 2 lithotripsies to blast the stones. BUT in the hospital, I was given a CAT scan. Besides the stones, it showed some questionable areas in my kidneys. Now, kidney cancer is very rare, and I didn't have the risk factors for it, BUT since the question was raised, the drs had to address it and do further tests--so they sent me for X-rays and an ultrasound. Which were inconclusive. There was bloodwork, more X-rays, and eventually, an MRI was ordered. Luckily, after all those tests (and expense) it turned out that I just had some cysts (most people over 50 DO), which were nothing to worry about. Luckily, my insurance covered a fair amount of the expense, but if our deductible was $10,000? We'd have had to spend every penny of it on me last summer. If you're not having symptoms, if you go to your regular dr. for regular check-ups and follow his advice--then I don't see any reason to pad the pockets of the snake oil salesmen who are just trying to make their $$$ quickly now, before we go to national health. One more example of the current 'smash and grab' on the middle class. Everyone's trying to get a bit of the pie, before the middle class disappears completely. Just don't make it easier for them by volunteering to hand them your money.

Dolly, I'm with you 100% on that! I've never tried Skittles, either, and I'm pretty sure that commercial has ensured that I never will intentionally! I often wonder what in the world the people that dream up some of the commercials are thinking, or even if they are thinking at all. But I grew up in a much different world than we live in today. So many things that are up front and in your face now were then called "unmentionables". When commercials for personal hygiene products first began to show up on TV, I was rather disgusted. And it bothered me quite a lot when they showed up on primetime, when my little boys were watching. I am still embarrassed at times by some of the commercials. But I also now realize that these same commercials for feminine hygiene products, and for incontinence products for both male and females, can be very helpful. As someone above said, how else would people know about these things? I can also see the benefits of the tiresome ads for prescription medicines. But I've wandered off topic here. I've never watched Dr. Pimple Popper, that title turns me off completely! But after reading all the posts here, I will maybe, probably, one of these days, look for an episode of it to check it out. I do like to "know stuff", as someone once said. And it sounds like it could be interesting. But why of why did they give it such a disgusting name! ! Rusty

Oh, my. How much can one person bear?? I'm sorry to hear about all your ailments and hope you get some relief SOON. I'm glad you're not nursing the baby while you're on the pain killers--I'll say a prayer for you.

Well...I agree with Leslie...I was a BFding mom too..but sometimes if we can't help ourselves, we can't help anyone..Hudson will survive without your milk for a while..just pump when you can to keep your supply working and get it cleaned out from all the drugs..and then pick right back up when you are ready.

The key is to get you well!!!!

Stacie, that is an enormous amount of stuff to deal with...not to mention all those little ones counting on you. I hope you are better soon and able to keep breast feeding.

Stacie, I don't know how you are keeping your sanity through all these trying times. You have my deepest sympathy...I know about kidney and gallbladder stones, but I was only dealing with 2 children at the time. Best wishes for all this to be behind you in a flash and you wake up in a bed of roses by Monday! Big hugs to all of the family.

so glad you got in to the dr...prayers you have the scope surgery...can you pump and dump to keep your milk coming until this is resolved?

dh way back in the 80's waited, and woke up from surgery packed in ice from the temp he was running....

Just a thought-- the electric breast pumps they have in the hospital are fast and easy! I felt like a cow, but they made pumping a breeze. When is your surgery?
