Thank you! I hope the weather is better elsewhere in this vast country, than it is here. Today it is cool and raining. And Mary's husband wanted to go to the beach. Not so far from here so I doubt it was beach weather for them. We have had rain almost every day for what seems like ages. At Sat. night's church service, the youth choir sang as a closing hymn "Rain Down". So we will blame today on them. Hope it warms up for the 4th for y'all. Theresa

Love Canada! I've only been in Manitoba.....Winnipeg & Riding-Mountain Golf-Course (golfed there in the early 80's...). I don't have a Passport, but DW & DD do. They got one to see Heart & Elton-John a few years ago. I SHOULD get one!! I wanna go to a CFL Game....& maybe a Winnipeg Jets/MN Wild game up THERE!! DW & DD have been to Banff 3?? times. I've always had to stay home with the dog & work. It's sure a long-a$$ drive from Fargo they tell me! Some DAMN GOOD Rock groups from Canadia obviously! Heart, RUSH, BTO, Loverboy, etc. Saying that.....now I've gotta go crank my fave Canadian screamers, BTO's "Sledgehammer"....;-) "Take off ya Hoser....." ;-) Faron

Well I partied! Just finished cleaning the kitchen and had to sit down... We barbecued lamb chops, bangers, portobello mushrooms, and asparagus. Nibblies included hummous, baba ganoush, tzatziki. Too bad it rained just as we were about to eat. Had to rush indoors, but the dining room wasn't available due to the 2 sewing machines + assorted supplies (how do you think I got my screen name?) covering the table.

Anyway, we have quality leftovers for the rest of the week.

We were at the cottage.....poured rain all Canada Day I mean poured! LOL

Canada Day falling on a Wednesday kinda put a wrench in celebration in cottage country as folk would have had to take either Monday and Tuesday off , or Thursday and Friday, in order to have a long weekend.

So we had our Canada day celebrations last weekend. We had a big cottage get together, my contribution was pulled pork, from my smoker..... I'm a hero! LOL

After food we all boated over to the Marina for fireworks. Saturday was a beautiful day and gorgeous evening so things worked well.

Thanks again and I hope you all enjoy your upcoming July 4th holiday!

Well not too many Canadians over here to keep me company so there was no celebration but I did have a lovely afternoon taking some new gardening friends over to visit another lady who has a wonderful garden chock full of every plant she can squeeze in.

As it was a very warm and sunny day, she served us cool homemade lemonade as soon as we arrived. Then she passed around plastic bags, garden shears and straw hats to us all and we followed her through her amazing garden, snipping cuttings and pinching off seeds from dead flowers for us to take home. After an interesting hour or so of this she then served us tea and a Victoria Sponge cake she had made that morning. It was a truly enjoyable afternoon. Here are a couple of pics I took there. The first shows an exotic flower from the lily family and the second is a scented water lily from her pond.

So although I wasn't in Canada, it was a wonderful day.

I hope my fellow Canadians also enjoyed the holiday! Sorry about the rain over there Chase, but at least you got to have a party earlier!
